Hi everyone;

With all the discussion about dragons and avignons, it appears to me that Advanced Clerics - particually those who choose NOT to become an elemental, have been ignored.

What i'd like to do is generate some discussion about this non-immortal version of the Athasian clerics as presented in 2e, and how it relates to 3.0 (haven't got 3.5 yet)

So, anyone know of any good prestige classes that could serve as a basis for these clerics who eventually gain access to the para-elemental and quasi-elemental plains associated with the element they worhsip....

Now, my starting idea... how about clerics beyond 20th level gain access to additional domains / access to spells, associated with the appropiate para/quasi plains?

Feel free to throw in any idea's, look up the old 2e stuff and so forth. What i would love to see if some idea's thrown around, so we can start collecting the key concept-cords.

Cheers

I'd say go with the epic clerics presented in the Epic book - they just wouldn't have quite the abilities of a true Elemental. Also, since the powers are granted by the elements, there's also the distinct possibility that the Elemental Lords would not allow those who weren't "chosen" to rise higher than 20th.

Being a cleric isn't like being a fighter. With the fighter, you kill enough stuff and you advance in levels. With the cleric, you still get to kill a lot of stuff, but if your diety says that's it: that's it.

But I'm not one to hold players back. If they don't want to go and get all those levels in psion, I'd just let them be an epic cleric with all the joys that go along with it.
