Where do I start?

Hi, I'm coming back after a 15+ year absense from Greyhawk. So much has changed, but memories are still strong!

I'm failing to find up to date resources on GH.
1) Is GH a 3e campaign world?
2) Are novels still being published for GH Adventure? [I can't find them anymore]

Where do I start. "Fate of Istus" was the late adventure I remember, and that was probably around 15 years ago.

Would somebody be so kind as to point me in the right direction? In order to build characters, npcs, ambience, ect., I need some reference material.

Thanks for the guidance,

Aescleal

Hi all-
Well the first thing to do is to visit www.canonfire.com...this is your haven for Greyhawk. Next follow the link on the left hand side and you'll find the Living Greyhawk Gazetter from Amazon. Buy it from this link, infact, buy all your Amazon stuff using CF's link (very small kickback, and since you're buying something anyway, might as well support the site). Also on that link are the Greyhawk Novels. Not that they are very good. But none-the-less, the links are there for them!

The LGG is D&D version non-specific. Designed when 3.0 was being released, so it has that in mind, but there are no character stats, spells or things that require any version of D&D. And it updates the world to CY591.
Now, while waiting for the LGG to arrive, read through CanonFire, download some of the Oerth Journals and return to Greyhawk, and read what it is that the world has been doing since you last left. Not much reallly, there's still a bunch of bad guys running around, but at least they've been beaten back, at least to their border....CanonFire will give you all sorts of examples. ChatDemon's written up a Pomarj article, Eric Andoson's done some awesome maps (of not just the Pomarj region), and updates to the LGG are posted in the downloads section.
By the time your LGG and novels arive in the mail, you'll have book-marked CanonFire and be making it one of your "daily visits."

TheocratIssak, many thanks!

This is a perfect place to get [re]started.

This was faster than I expected! Now I can get a good jump on maps and resource materials.

thanks!
