It's theorized that they have their origins with the Irda, perhaps as a cursed Irda clan that's lost its true identity and now resembles a featureless humanoid. This was put forward in the Dragonlance DM's Screen booklet; they don't have a large profile in the setting prior to that information. Cheers, Cam

Cheers, Cam I was inquiring about them because I intend on using one to infiltrate the PC's party while they are heading for Ak Khurman, and then attempt to steal a certain magical artifact from them. ~~~
