Has anyone tried running this adventure (I don't remember the #)? I know it required some alterations here and there. Just curious what people have done (if anything) with it.

Nah, I got the mag in the mail, took one look at the adventure, and just sighed. Its not really that good. Very linear and the monsters are limited to about 3 types. That and the main villain of the adventure wasn't even in it. It just had a blurb at the end that said if you wanna go after this guy, this is where he's hiding. No maps, no stats for him, nothing. The backstory was kinda weak too. Stick with the flipbooks I say!

I think it had merrit. I've ran it for my group. Granted I had to strip most of down (i.e. metal weapons, insane wild talent system for NPC, etc...). It was pretty much a basic DS adventure otherwise.

Decent spring board of a campaign IMO.

That's ok. Whatever works for you. I just prefer to start my PC's as slaves and let them work their way up from there. Hell, I even let them buy gear, just to tell them that "Ok, you guys awaken once again in your slaves pens with nothing but a loincloth, what do ya do?"

The best adventures I've seen so far to start a campaign, are Freedom, A Little Knowledge, Tyrian Conspiracy, and Mystery of the Ancients (this one was fantastic when I ran it).

I may take another peek at the Dungeon mag one, but I can't remember many parts that I liked that much. The zombie template was kinda cool though, and the art was good.

It was by no means the greatest DS adventure, but a basic DS concept adventure none the less.

I'd have to say one of the better adventures was Marauders of Nibnay (love them lightning zombies) Black Spine (cool map of Yathazor) and the City by the Silt Sea (one of the players subcucmed to the Caller).
