Am I able to play these adventures including Heroes of Hope and Heroes of Sorcery among others pretty well with the new campaign book and Age of Mortals, or is it too big of change?

Please keep in mind, I've been reading DL novels for a long time but have just recently started wanting to game with friends. I want to maybe be a DM for some new adventures.

Heroes of Hope and Heroes of Sorcery are two things. First, a sourcebook on mystics and sorcerers respectfully. Secondly, they each contain a part of a 5-part adventure which also crosses over into Heroes of Defiance, Heroes of Steel, and Wings of Fury.

The SAGA system and the D&D system really are not all that compatible. With that in mind, you would probably want to keep the story in tact, but use D&D rules where applicable and scale the adventure appropriately.

I highly recommend picking up the Heroes of... series as well as Citadel of Light. I found them to be some of the best that the SAGA line had to offer. There's great character concepts in there, many of which were made into PrCs in Age of Mortals.

Just seeing all my options, would running the older mods like DL:1 through DL: 16 be ot of the question? Would that be too much to change during the game?

I ran Castle Amber converting it to 3.0 on the fly, and that went pretty well. If you're not familiar with the best module of all time, it's basic D&D for levels 3 to 6 and features among other things what might be the primordial origins of epic spell casting, monsters in the Epic level handbook, including one that just isn't appropriate anywhere else. Some things require you to be a little quicker on the draw (room full of twenty Rakasha, Brain Collector in the basement).

If you want to run them, I say go for it. Just read each adventure thuroughly to identify the portential problem areas, and provide an out or two. Maybe they still run into the great wyrm red dragon or knight of the rose death knight, but maybe there is another encounter those can be linked up to, some extra way they can escape notice, or a way they can talk themselves out of the jam.
