I ask, because I pre-ordered from Amazon.com sometime in March I think and they're still telling me that I won't get it delivered for up to a month now. I thought the book was already released?

Did Amazon.com never get a shipment of the books, or did they just get shorted, and I'm at the back of their list?

Yep.

NEVAR order from amazon. They'll deliver your stuff two months late AND in bad condition.

I sort of missed the notice that it had been released as well, till folks on here started saying they had it. Gonna order my copy today.

I've had no problems with books that are already out, but Amazon has a track record of not getting materials in as swiftly as, say, bricks and mortar stores or certain niche market online sellers such as rpgnow.com. In addition, a lot of publishers have had negative experiences with Amazon (such as not getting paid for product) and have stopped supplying Amazon's warehouses with their product. Eden Studios, for example, doesn't distribute anything through Amazon.

Cheers,

My wife and I ordered a few things off of Amazon and never received them. We had to get a refund to our credit cards. From now on I am dealing with my local gaming store. That is where I got my copy of KoD from.

That sucks, dude. I've probably made close to 50 purchases on Amazon.com...and the only time they ever led me astray was when I was trying to get an import CD and they sent me the wrong one. A problem which they fixed right away (within a week).

Then again...I've not had the problems with eBay either (about 20 purchases) that you seemed to have. Maybe you're Online-purchasing cursed. :D

Things happen, to paraphrase.

I mean, I've had the occassional slight damage upon receiving something from Amazon, or worse with eBay, but you're going to have this regardless.

The last two hardcovers I bought (Night of Blood & Mystic Warrior) I had to special order through Waldenbooks because, well, the store sucks. And for both, the dust jackets had some damage. And I've seen much worse on their shelves.

It makes me want to scream sometimes, because no matter where you go, there is disregard for the stuff people are trying to sell.

Who are you telling ? Everytime I step into WaldenBooks it looks like their books have been through a few World Wars. They are actually still trying to sell one of their books with the cover halfway ripped off.

Well, as long as it's discounted...

Some people are willing to pay for it in the interest of just being able to read the book.

And yes, they gave me a discount on one of the damaged books atleast.

LoL! Your better than me. I will take the book back if there is a deep scratch on the cover. The first AoM sourcebook that I bought had creases and a small amount of what looked like water damage on 4 of the inner pages(I could not see the damage before buying it because they shrink wrap their stuff.).

I had my local hobbystore that I bought it from order me another one. They ordered it pretty quick though, I bought my KoD module from them as well.

Oh, I've had them order me another book before.

But it gets to the point where, instead of having every book reordered, I'm going to take my shopping elsewhere shortly.
Which sucks in a way, cause alot of the people that work there recognize me, know what I get, and know how picky I am about the condition of the books I buy.

Dude when you buy a new book you have every right to be picky. If they try to sell me a new book in bad condition they better mark that price way down. I once paid $7 for a $25 book there after convincing them I was the only person they were likely to ever sell it to.
