My friends and I are trying to convert our Star*Drive campaign over to d20, but with a few tweaks here and there to include all the rules we like. So far, these are the sources I'm considering for most of the rules.

Star Wars Revised d20
- Starship rules
- Futuristic weapons and armor rules
- Futuristic skills and feats
- Planet types and atmospheres

d20 Modern (Menace Manual included)
- Classes
- Advanced Classes
- Psionics rules
- Core skills and feats

Unearthed Arcana
- Flaws

Other stuff I'm doing myself
- T'sa and Mechalus Races
- Cybernetics
- Drivespace distances

I'm just wondering if anybody's tried any of these and had any good or bad experiences to report? I'm trying to stick with d20 Modern as much as possible to support d20 Future when it comes out.

But this is June and D20 Future is supposed to come out in August, I would just wait for it.

I don't think there will be much interest to convert completely to D20 as people here are fans of the Alternity system.

Star*Drive isn't really ground breaking. I am sure D20 Future will have everything Star*Drive offered and a little more.

Yeah, you may have a point there. I am eagerly awaiting that book.

Does anybody know if you need the d20 Modern book as well to use d20 Future? Or will d20 Future contain all the stuff like base classes, skills, etc. reprinted?

If its just an add-on book, then I'll have to go and grab myself a d20 Modern book in the meantime!

D20 Future will be a game unto itself. It will have the "system" in common to allow for some intergration.

Really, it will probably be like Alternity, just broken up. D20 Modern is the Dark*Matter campaign setting and more. D20 Future will be Star*Drive campaign setting and more.

Yeah, I may hold off on the d20 Modern book then. But I did manage to pick myself up a copy of the Menace Manual off ebay for less than 40 bucks CDN. That should be useful no matter what!!!

I like the Menace Manual. I purchased for 60% off the cover price at a WoTC store going out of business. I admit, I am a vulture!!

If I remember correctly, d20 Future is being billed as a d20 Modern product, so I think both books will be required to fully use the d20 Future rules.

yes, d20 future is a supplement to d20 modern, so if you want the classes, skills descriptions of the base skills, feats, and combate mechanics, you will probably need to pick up the book.
