Hello Everyone!

I used to GM the very first edition of GW a long, long, long, long time ago. I think I ran "The Legion of Gold" when I was 19 or 20 yrs old. I had a great time then. However, all good things come to an end. Real life intervened. Now the last time I played "D&D" it was the 1st ed. and the "THAC0" system (as I call it ). Now every thing is D20. Which is cool and okay with me.

Now that I have carved out a tiny slice of life for myself, I have returned to gaming.

Did some D&D and IK-RPG "Witchfire Trilogy" (awsome game, can't wait for the rest of the books!) I played in these games as a PC. We are currently in a D20 Cthulhu-Modern campaign:88E:

So......a few weeks weeks ago as I was looking at the D20 Modern stuff, a radioactive neon green book cover caught my eye,....hmmmm...whatsthis...I say. So I grab the book and flip it around....:OMG! :

It's back!! So I went and bought the GW-GMG, GW-PHB, and the D20 Mod-CRB ( I also have the D&D MM and the IK-Monsternomicon, which I plan to use... )

So, now I've set out to "create" the Gamma World in MY image!
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

By the way,.......would someone care to elaborate on "soul-tech" for an "ole' timer" like me. Thanks in advance!
:D

This board is not exactly a haven for gamers of these products. It seems like there is only a few of us here. ( I count ten to fifteen).

I hope your enthusiasm generates some interest.

Well,...............right now we are only a seed. A radioactive seed, slowly growing and sending out tendrels tentatively, seeking out new flesh to assimilate,.......er, I mean gamers......

I've tried the link to the forums on the Official site, but it looks like its not up and running yet.

I'm eager to get a game going in my Gamma World setting.

What's your Gamma World setting like? Mine takes place after the fall of New Eden and the Arcology Gods.

Soultech is a machine mind that can think and interact with its environment and/or with its owner or operator.

An intelligent long sword would be considered a soultech device.

There is only one more person with a campaign going. Maybe there is a community somewhere, but where??

Luangu:

GREETINGS! Welcome back!

You are only slightly older than me (I was in my teens when Legion of Gold was new). I have been working on GW continuously ever since. I picked a bunch of my college electives based on what I needed to know about to create better GW background. Too bad there was/is no way to get a degree out of it.

I play irregularly but GM once a year. Look up "Pentacon" in a web search. You are invited to attend; I will be running a scenario on (probably) Saturday moring of the 'con weekend.

Thanks BRJN!
My group (only 3 right now with a 4th and maybe a 5th on deck)
is really enjoying Terra Gamma. They have never played it before and they are really sarting to get into the "FUN" that is Gamma World. Once they get over the part that this is NOT Science Fiction but Science Fantasy they really begin to loosen up.

I used the Mystery Garden down load as a start into the rules system, nothing like jumping in feet first!

I changed a few things here and there in the Mystery Garden and I'm going to use this to flesh out from here into Terra Gamma.

I added a side quest where the PC's have the choice to take some of the Healing Fruit from the Arboretum to the Minotaur tribe or the village will be pillaged!

I placed my players in the Laughlin/Bullhead area. Sorta remote but nearby lays some major quests! I hope I can flaot along untill I get some more of this fleshed out!

I picked up the "Overlord of Bonparr" and downloaded GW1, GW2, GW3 rulesets (with begining adventures ), and GW11 (never published)

This is what I'm using to spring board into gamma World.

How are you guys doin' ?

Do any of you GammaMasters have secrets in your world that the players have yet to discover or never find out? My players have voiced that they do not want to know about "The End" but want to "discover" the truth.

Later,

Luangu

I have a homemade background module for the Vegaz area. The city and ex-Lake Mead are farmable land; the southwest Arizona desert is like Dune; northern and eastern Arizona and Nevada are cold desert. Mead is a city-state and nomads live along the mountains in Zona. Nellis AFB (north of Las Vegas) is controlled by a mad computer that allows NOBODY in or out, and has a warbot or two to back this up. I imagine that your PCs will not appreciate learning that Laughlin was washed away by the flood when Hoover Dam was blown up.

If you want more, let me know and I will see if an old collaborative website I helped fill in is still there. I posted all my Vegaz stuff there as a teaser for my current Wayun campaign background.

Thats cool! B) Unfortunately, LV was nuked in my world. I and the rest of the gang is from LV, and they can fall into metagaming somtimes and get distracted by trivial minutia, this way I remove all references that they have. (in our Call of Cthulhu RPG we once argued for 40 minutes on whether we should use the party funds to buy a used or new Hummer and what model, and who was skilled, who would use it, etc,........yesh. :D ) However, Area 51 is 90 miles north of here (LV) and would be fortified and deep enough to survive a direct nuclear strike,......maybe.

I went shopping and got my hands on some old Gamma World modules, and with some creative geographical magic....(waves magic wand)

To the south will be the Barony of Horn (Legion of Gold GW1)
The Flagstaff area will fall under the "Overlord of Bonparr"

...that should should occupy them for a while. I've also drawn up a mini adventure surrounding the Minotaur Tribe that is on the GW site. I watched the "Magnificent Seven" and based it on that.

Has anyone made it into Nellis AFB? My Dad works there. Its home of the Thunderbirds, and Red Squadron (OPFOR) that trains pilots from allied nations. Occasionally, unusual aircraft are rumored to stop over from Edwards AFB and Dreamland (Area 51)

Gotta go they're here to clean the carpets,.....later

Mmph. I killed LV with water. Actually, with lack of water. The city gets its water from Lake Mead, and I started the Final War by having Hoover Dam blown up. The citizens generally decided to move out "temporarily" where they could get a drink, rather than build the infrastructure to tap a new water source.

Have you tried Alternity.net? They have a huge list of interested gamers, and I'm sure you could talk them into playing d20 gamma world instead of alternity gamma world....
