I am currently running a 1st Edition Greyhawk campaign and am interested in sending the PC's to an underwater city setting. Can anyone recall any modules that might fit? Looking for Atlantis, or maybe Istar/Blood Sea from Dragonlance...

Thanks!

Chello!

The closest thing that comes to mind is U3 The Final Enemy, and it's set in a Lizardman stronghold that has been captured by Sahaugin....

try Quagmire (one of the x series, it is set on mystara, and is a BECMI D&D module, but shouldn't be too dificult to convert).

DL12 Dragons of Faith qualifies .. but it's very specific to the setting

Not sure if you're looking for an underwater "dungeon", or an underwater "city base". Either way, I had a fun thought. We've all heard of apparati of Kwalish, and I'm pretty sure we've all just ASSUMED that Kwalish is a long-ago wizard (possibly cleric) with an interest in mechanical devices and underwater exploration... but what if Kwalish is a PLACE? Plenty of clockwork, pressure domes and giant bellows... ("Oh, those? We drag air in from a tunnel that runs to the Underdark.")

I am thinking of using the Istar map from Dragons of Faith and incorporating War Rafts of Kron with the Sea People D&D module...but now I definately have to use Kwalish as at least a portion/faction of my hodgepodge underwater realm!

Great recommendations and ideas!

Thanks much...

Actually, that question was solved in the LGJ, issue #5, p.17. We learn that Kwalish was an "inventor" (whether a cleric or wizard, no indication).

His workshop is known as the "Arm of Kwalish", an inaccessible rock pillar several hundred yards from Zeif's coast.

The article does mention that he designed the "Dome of the Reef" for the Sidi of the Sea (ruler of the local mermen). So, it appears he did have a hand in an underwater city ;)

You might want to look through Greyhawk Adventures for information regarding Turucambi and the Sinking Isle, or the '83 Glossography for the Jungle of Lost Ships. Granted, there's always my personal favorite (see the link in my Signature, below).

The Saltmarsh series is great if you want underwater adventure in 1st edition!
