I ran into few problems in my game, well not problems but question marks...

1.the kagonesti hunt animel for food freely, right?
2.I have heared that the kagonesti sometimes live in long hollow trees...but how do they build them? as far as i know they leave nature at it is, they dont use woodsahpers or something.

1. Yes, that's part of the natural order.

2. Trees fall down by themselves a lot in forests due to storms and whatnot. The Kagonesti just hollow them out after they fall.

Waste not, want not.

In my encounters with dwarven women I have found that they are treated much the same as males in their society. Dwarven women can own property and businesses as well as participate in government. Many dwarven females work right alongside their male counterparts at the forges and in the mines.

Many non-dwarves can't even tell the difference between dwarven men and women due to the fact that many women also have long whiskers or even beards!

Per the description in the DLCS, dwarven women grow tufts of hair on their cheeks and do not have beards.

That depends on the town. Afflicted kender prefer the towns that are easily defended. The tre village of Lookit is not very popular, but the village of Hidal where there are a ton of little caves all over is very popular with afflictred kender.

kenders sell weapons?

Sure, but most of them barter instead of buy and sell with steel.

Elves to dwarves to ... kender. *shudder*

If it makes you feel any better Amaron I can't remeber ever reading anything on the origins of the Kagonesti. I know they have existed since before the establishment of Silvanesti and its quite possible the Silvanesti grew out of a tribal structure while the Kagonesti never did.

There's a novel called "The Kagonesti", which gives a nice overview of the race's origins and travails through the years.

Yes I read that book but I dont recall them being the original elves. But it would make sense that way. Does that book mention it?

From what I recall, the Kagonesti and Silvanesti were originally one people, but diverged when two leaders emerged advocating two different life-styles, Silvanos and Kagonos. Silvanos advocated breaking from elven traditional tribal/clan structure into one based on Houses. Kagonos and followers opted to stay true to the old elven ways. Those that followed Silvanos became the Silvanesti while the latter became Kagonesti.

1) They do hunt wildlife, but never more then they need, just enough to feed them or their families and that is about it.

2) Well, they also use Lean-Too's, or structures that sound like Teepee's and such. They also construct out of natural materials some buildings, but these are not much more then huts.

For what it's worth, in my campaign the Kagonesti are like Native Americans. If they hunt an animal, everything is used; skin, meat, organs, blood, bones. Each family has a tee-pee, and single warriors have a lean-to. If the terrain offers shelter, that is used instead.

I've actually carried a lot of the customs of the Native Americans over to the Kags. Burial rituals, ceremonial dances, and even dress to an extent. In fact I was thrilled to see the rules on counting coup in a recent DL product, and have decided that not only does the Centaurs do it, but so do the Kags. Which I think will lead to interesting roleplaying when the PC's stumble into a group of Kagonesti "braves" and a group of Centaur youth, counting coup on each other.

Uhmm, just to clarify a bit.

"He" (I) did indeed find it on page 152 of the DLCS because I wrote it for the DLCS. heh But where I "originally" found it was in the SAGA Boxed Set Heroes of Defiance, Book One, Page 85. Of course the population is not the same, but the ratio of Afflicted kender to True kender in Lemon is abouit 40% True to 60% Afflicted. If you want to know more about Hylo that book covers all of Northen Ergoth from top to bottom. :D
