Anyone know of any secret mage society that goes against the WoHS? Or any other group, that are considered renegades?Otherwise I'll probably make one up.

In "Mists of Krynn" there is an adventure that describes the city state of Edon. A part of Istar that covered what is now Goodlund. edon was advanced in magic, and so powerful that they seceeded from Istar to form their own separate realm. They also broke off from the Orders of high Sorcery to form their own society of mages. It says that they were destroyed 410 years before the cataclysm, by the combined might of both Istar & the Orders.

Ooh. How much info. on this city-state was there in that adventure module? Are we talking little tidbits, or much more? If there's a fair amount, it may be worth my while to try and track down this adventure ...

Perhaps this group was not entirely squashed by Istar and the WoHS...there are always survivors somewhere. And when a sect like that is threatened and actually defeated, of course they would become all the more zealous about having their Order....just a lot more tricky about how they go about doing it.

Perhaps all these years the mages of Edon have been biding their time, strenghthening little by little, never regaining what they had. Then came the second cataclysm....all hope lost for this small order of mages....or was it. The WoHS could not survive without the magic of the moons to bind them together, but with the advent of primal sorcery, the mages of Edon surely had a chance. Practitioners of this art began to spring up within the order of Edon, teaching it to the other members, and then the mages of Edon began to actively recruit. Then the War of Souls occurs and the gods return to Krynn, and shortly therafter the WoHS reform. This could spell doom for the Order of Edon, as wild sorcerers have been declared renegades by the WoHS.

But what if the Order of Edon became the tie that binds among wild sorcerers, that banner under which the wild sorcerers united?

All speculation and imagination at work, what do you guys think?

Well, in the adventure there is indeed a survivor from Edon, he is a wizard that used some time-spell to preserve a portion of Edon. The only other thing I remeber was that the people in this time-bubble are stuck living the same day over and over...

My DM has a group that was just introduced that had an entire city dedicated to Renegade Wizards. Back during the early times of the WoHS, these Renegades formed there own hidden City to practice magic outside of the restrictions of the WoHS. Lunitari herself led the attack on this realm because they were becoming way too powerful and tipping the balance of magic in dangerous directions. the city was buried in a mountain and all of the renegades were destroyed but one. She (now a player in the game) was stuck in a time bubble and charged with protecting the Soul Crystal Ball. An Artifact from the city. She must keep it from the hands of the WoHS at all costs. Should be interesting going forth...

Going with Serena's plot ... this time bubble then ends when magic ceases to function after the Chaos War ... and the people of Edon find themselves in a world without magic and dominated by dragons of immense size. Muhuhahaha. I like it.

Any idea where I can pick up the basics about this whole thing? Id kind of like to develop that idea further....maybe write up something for the Nexus, something like a prestige class like the WoHS but for Wild Sorcerers. I know there is already the Academy Sorcerer, but I kind of feel that this would be a bit different. At least I could try and write something for the organization.....maybe someone knows a bit more of the whole Edon thing? Someone tell me more please?

There is not much to tell besides what i have already said... If you really REALLY want I guess I could send you the file, but it 2.9 MBs so your email has to be able to handle that kinda file size, though to tell you the truth there isn't much more detail than that... The adventure isn't set in that timeline, it just has a wizard that has survived from then...

Wouldnt the citadel that Galen Dracos had kind of be a place for renegades to congregate?
