Hey,

Just posting cause I'm excited, I have my first DLCS game tonight & can't wait.

Party consists of:
Me, Female LG Noble (will be multiclassing with fighter & become a Knight of the Crown). I rolled crappy starting money though and am a noble travelling without a horse...bugger.
Male Qualinesti Druid (travelling with my character, is paying off a debt of servitude. Good aligned)
Felame Gnome Rogue (good aligned, will take the Inquisitor PrC)
and here's the kicker..
Male Mionotaur Rogue (Chaotic Good).

I have NO idea how our DM is going to arrange things so a minotaur, elf, solamnic & gnome will travel together, but I can't wait to find out. Campaign is set post war of souls.

Nice. Sounds like a real interesting mix of PCs. If only my own players' PCs were so racially diverse! Right now I've got 4 humans and a dwarf. Ahh well.

Hehe well sometimes the racial diversity can get a bit too much!

Good luck on your first session! Don´t get yourself killed!

I always have a mix..I actually dont have as many people want to play humans and dwarfs. Minotaurs seem to be popular

Nice, well rounded party. For some reason everyone in my campaign likes to be magic using elves....

Hi, I be the Qualinosti Druid.

First session done and we are all in one piece. Yay us!!

Yes, it is an interesting group and apart from mild antogonism between the minotaur and the elf, all works well.

Got me lots of hits and crits :D as my Elf Druid is a front line fighter with the noble.

Looking forward to exploring Krynn since I know nothing since the War of the Lance books and setting.

Yay, beat Edgelett to the update post.

What age are you playing in?

What age are you playing in?

Age of Mortals I think.

I have no idea how long that is after the War of Lance and what has happened in between. I am taking it as it comes.

We are in Northern Solamnia I think in a frontier like plains near mountains.

We got to squish some Moon Rats, Neogi (very small ones), some peasants (well a mob, had to rescue the minotaur) and a large Octopus and a Dark Mantle.

Oh, if I sound like a little kid, its because its only the fifth game of D&D since it became 3rd Edition that I have been a player. I have DMed otherwise. It feels good to see the monsters go down for once.:D

Seriously Amaron, is it really necessary to post soooo many one-liners in sooo many posts when it would seem obvious you already know the answer?? I'm not the first to notice, and I likely won't be the last ...

What is it with you guys?! Is there some contest going on? Who can be the most petty? You think someone is writing irrelevant or stupid posts? Ignore the person and concentrate on making your own posts useful! If we keep this kind of bickering going on the mods will end up closing every thread due to too much mud-throwing!

As for the first session thingy (which this thread was all about)...a druid as a front-line fighter? heh the druids I have in my party usually stays in the background, supporting the combatants with their spells. But then maybe they´re just plain chickens! ;)

Darn you & your high stat rolling!!!!!

just kidding mate, you did well with all those crits!!

yes it's anage of mortals, post war of souls campaign.

Don't worry about the minotaur, DM's already told him he has to play nice. Sorry there wasn't too much roleplaying for the first session, DM had filled this town with fascinating people & we didn't go there!!! lol.

Its all good, I thoroughly enjoyed it and the minotaur didn't bother me personaly, just roleplaying the mild dislike for the race.

As for the roleplaying bit with the town, once we are done killing the nasty spellcasting rats, we will most likely go back to it. Then we search around a bit and beat up more peasants (Go Neutral Good :D ).

Looking forward to next fortnight.

I know - why don't you PM him and save yourself the trouble of repeating yourself on here, Amaron? If he's got an update, I'm pretty sure he'll post it.

Cheers,

With the druid I was playing in a Forgotten Realms campaign, I took the prestige class of shifter from the Masters of the Wild supplementary. Being able to take the form of a dragon, with 6 or so attacks, and a +15-20 to attack makes for a nice front line fighter.

Druids make great front line fighters. I dont think that there is anything wrong with them especially since most are meant to be support characters in one way or another.

Sorry to keep you in apparant suspense but our game only runs once a fortnight on a Wednesday night.

Surprised anyone is interested in our little game but if you like when I play again on next Wednesday I will update the post.

As for the front line druid, yeah maybe not what I ahd in mind when I created him but it works for now and should get better with Wildshape. Heres hoping.

Dragonlance Campaign - Age of Mortals Part 2.

Started off in a room with a shrieker after chasing the Moon Rat leader through tunnels. Many embarrasing misses at the Shrieker later we killed it and were ambushed by 2 zombies.

They last 1 round against the might of the Druid (:D ).

Decided to head back to previous level to make sure it was cleared. Stumbled upon some more moon rats who then presented our butts to us. Female Noble diseased.

After Rest:

Headed for the upper levels again and ran into some traps laid by a Jermaline. Nearly get owned again until the Minotaur full sneaks around it and backstabs it.

Continue into another room where another Jermaline tries to catch us in a water trap before escaping. Go off in hot pursuit.

Lead into a room with with a large horned frog like thing that fell fairly quickly. Headed after the laughing Jermaline into another room before falling for another trap that pins all but the druid. The druid gets a crossbow bolt instead.

Jermaline then throws burning torch upon the weighted curtain pinning the party but is retrieved by the druid but gets a dagger in the arm for his troubles.

Noble and Minotaur break free and go the little blighter.
After some swings it heads for a pulley system at the side of the mountain and lowers itself down. Noble grabs the rope and starts to pull him up but he starts to slide down the rope.

Minotaur shrugs, pulls sword and cuts entire rope system. Jermaline becomes road kill. Loot the creatures hide-out and rest before the Noble finally succombs to the disease of the Moon Rat.

Still did not find Moon Rat Leader but are heading for town. We hurt. Still some areas unexplored that we may search but that will be next game.

All having fun.

very nice, what level are your pcs?

in the KoD campaign im in now is nuts!

when we first began, we had a human fighter, human wizard, gnome rogue, kender rogue. after a few bumps here and there, the fighter is now a lvl 4 fighter, lvl 2 cleric (hes going for knight hood). I, the wizard, am a lvl 5 wizard, lvl 1 red robe WoHS. the gnome left and was replaced by a silvernesti elf who is a lvl 5 wizard and a lvl 1 white robe WoHS. The kender died and is now a qualinesti Elf, who is a lvl 5 or 6 battle Sorcerer.

You think your partys alittle wierd, try having wizards and sorcs in the same party in KoD.

fools_wildhunt & I are in the same campaign - we JUST went up to level 2 at the end of that adventure (though with all the rolls between 2 and 8 I was doing to strike, don't know if I deserved to level up!!)

DM is about to start us on KOD too, looking forward to it. Knowing him, he'll be adding in more home-brewed adventures too.

Yes do tell. kender die in the most interresting and humorous ways. My wife's played a few and each death was very entertaining. Her current kender looks like it might actually live past lvl 5, of course I'm the DM so all it takes is one cold dinner...I mean bad die roll.

sorry for the late post - been interstate for a few days.

let's see ..... last game we healed ourselves up a bit (since I had filth fever), and met a guy who was talking in a trance about a sylvan key...very intreguing & am going to find out more about this key next game.

also met a kender who gave us a clue as to why these knights of neraka were hanging around this town. wandered in to the woods, had a big battle with some ex nerakans, all but 1 are dead or ran away, so we'll be questioning him next week!! apparently these ex nerakans have stolen something and I want to find out WHAT!!!
