Here's a quick list of the projects I'm working on and the priority I've assigned them. Some have not passed the outline stage, others have moved on to "sketches" and some are being pushed to the back burner until I have more time to take a closer look. I'm throwing this out here for two reasons:

1) As a public statement that will light a fire under me, lest I forget.

2) As a means for you guys to all comment on the projects, offer advice, critiques, or ideas. For the Terrors of Athas, which I'm roughly halfway through illustrating, much of it has already been drawn, but ideas on the monsters that haven't been drawn yet will always be considered.

I'm moving to Colorado, so a lot of my supplies are packed up or in the process of being organized so they can be packed. Once they unpack on the far side, I'm going to kick everything into high gear and start cranking these things out.

Here's the project list and (roughly) how far I am into them:

  • Terrors of Athas (Art)
This is the one that is listed in the links below. Simply put, it's doing sketches of all the critters for that book so there's a standard, coherent art theme for that document. To see what monsters haven't been drawn yet, look through the linked websites and the Terrors of Athas first release. If there's a way you've thought a monster should look (and it didn't look that way in the original books), let me know (preferably on ones I haven't drawn yet).
  • Villichi & Kurn (art)
Nyt and Brax - I haven't forgotten you! I'm going to go through and illustrate Nyt's write-up on the Villichi and do whatever art Brax wants for the Kurn document. As a side note, I'm not much of a "dolly-parton-in-0-G" type of fantasy artist, so some of you might be disappointed in the Villichi drawings (it's hard to fight with D-F cups). I have a few sketches done for both projects, but nothing too solid, yet.
  • Athasian Manual of the Planes
Full outline is finished and I've started writing it. I'm working on implementing some of the ideas mentioned in an earlier thread on this subject. You guys have some great ones and I'm going to steal them and toss them down on paper. Of course I'll be illustrating this one, too.
  • The Far Lands
This is a personal project I've wanted to do for a long time. Basically, it covers the land on the far side of the Sea of Silt (to the East of the Tyr region). There's a whole other civilization over there that chose to isolate itself after the death of Rajaat. The power of the lead dragon was sufficient enough to force a truce with Borys, thus isolating this region from the rest of Athas. Essentially, I'm going to leave this one open-ended: the GM can decide whether the demise of Borys pulls this dragon out and pushes them to try to claim the Tablelands or the PCs simply get past all the barriers and into this land (or start there, there's always that).
  • The Cleansing Wars
This has been a baby of mine for close to eight years, but I haven't really moved on it until very recently. It's a pretty detailed outline, at this point, with ideas of what I want it to be. Right now, this project is a bit too big for me to take on right now, which is why it's at the bottom. It's basically a detailed setting of Athas right before the start of the Cleansing Wars. It's a paranoid campaign world where huge pieces are in motion and plans too big to see are starting to come to fruition.

And that's it. I have a few smaller projects going on, but they aren't related to Dark Sun, so I won't include them here.

I don't if already said it somewhere else... but I would be glad to help you create the #4 - FAR LANDS...

Just point the direction (directrices) and I'll start it.

I'd appreciate that. Once I get moved, I'll toss you the outline and some prelim sketches I've made of it.

Heya,

How goes the work so far on the Planar Project?

I'd love to see what you've come up with, since my own little project is going to deal with the planes to a degree.

Slowly, for now. I'm moving at the end of this month (August), at which time most of my stuff will be in storage for a few weeks (maybe up to a month, but I hope not). Once I'm comfortably "with job" and have a new space to call my own, I'll start pumping out the monster pics, again. Once that's done (probably two months, at the outside), I'll start on the Athasian Manual of the Planes. I think I'll have a good jump on it by January.

Dawn, would it mabe, perhaps, if you'r feeling good be possible for me to ask you to do some ilistrations for thi Silicon based ecocystem that I'm doing. Only if my eforts turn out to be good.

But seriously, only if you don't mind (and you already have a fair bit on your plate, so I can understand).
