Since this seems to be the latest trend (I'm sure that Nytcrawlr and Dawnstealer will appreciate to know that they've started a trend), here's what my projects are:

1. Official: Epic Bureau for Athas.org, attempting to knock out the official 3.5e Epic rules for Dark Sun (Advanced Beings and such).

2. Unofficial: My revised Advanced Being rules (Dragons, Avangions, and then also Spirits of the Land and Cleric-Elementals), which will be up on my new website.

3. Umm.... getting my website back up and stuff.

4. Unrelated: Rules, fluff, maps, etc. for my homebrew campaign setting up on my website.

Xlor, I was thinking of tossing some ideas back and forth with you about the whole advanced being thing. Preferably away from the firestorm of the boards.

What? You don't want to hear anymore of the "OMG! You can't do that! Book X says so! Your killing Athas! In 2nd ed it was only 20 levels in each class, 40 level total!
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh! "?

No problem. I'm hopefully going to get my own site back up and running. Of course, you can simply e-mail me. my xlorepdarkhelm@hotmail.com address works, but I think, with the new changes, I might actually favor the xlorepdarkhelm@yahoo.com address more here soon.

What about Sun's Home over by the Mud Palace. I don't think there is anything about that.

Heh, pick one. Almost 80% of them are barely developed at all (heck even most of the city-states were barely developed by the time the setting was cut). Toss a dart at a map of Athas and start chunking stuff out ;)

While im not as psycho as those people - whoever they are :D
i was as focused on the 2nd Edition fact that the SK's were 21st+ level wizards/psions.
I (like a lot of people i imagine) tried to transfer the SK's to 3rd edition. But i kept trying to make them match the 2nd ed versions - ie 20/20.
Anyway, i wanted to tell Xlorep thanks for your posts on the SKs - while i havent read them all (been new here) or agree with some of the levels/classes that i have seen you choose for them (which is TOTALLY beside the point) i wanted to say thanks for breaking me out of the 2nd ED "20/20" mindset i had.
in 2nd ed they are at least 21st level wizards/21st level Psionics - and nothing will ever change that.
In 3rd ed they are something else, and while i will try and come up with my own version im sure you and the athas.org guys will come up with your own. And i cant wait for it.

Well, I've done some serious rethinking and streamlining of my Dragon and Avangion write-ups, believe it or not, it has become far simpler, while still remaining robust and full of the flavor-rich ideas I had from the past version. Technically, the new revised form is probably about version 3 for my Dragons & Avangions (some here might remember my original PDF files I had done over a year ago, which were done for 3e, and, well, were *really* complicated). It's all a process - I have set my sites on keeping the flavor, while making the system simple (not simplistic, which is actually a totally different connotation and meaning).

My new write-up will definitely be on my new website, which there still is no real date as to when this will appear back on the 'net. As it is, I'm still in the process of building & debugging my new site (which basically is becoming a full website built off of phpBB2, but with a great many other things added into it).

And when it comes to the levels, especially those for the Sorcerer-Kings, I had a lot of fun trying to mold the gamesystem information for them based off of what flavor and fluff I knew of them, as well as my own personal extrapolations of the Sorcerer-Kings in general. With the Advanced Being classes... I want to make them flexible with the 3.5e system, powerful enough to represent what I feel are the most powerful beings on the world (short of Rajaat), and yet without totally crippling the character who develops into the Advanced Being.

I'm glad you liked my ideas - and would love o see what you come up with as well.. of course, be warned - I tend to attack other ideas, mainly to sort of test them, and work out the flaws - both in the other systems, and in my own. I also am known to argue against the inclusion of certian things into my own system, and then end up using it - just kinda wierd that way.
