The Night of the Eye should occur 18 months after the end of the War of Souls, since there is a Night of the Eye at the end of that war.

I didnt realize that they took place all that often. I thought it was a big thing and the way it is desribed in a few books, it sounded like a rare thing. My bad?

There is a prologue that occurs right at the end of the War of Souls.

Other than that, the earliest indication of time is sometime in Spring with the introduction of Coryn. Coryn recalls the Night of Two Moons, when the Moon Gods returned to Krynn, just the winter past. Per the official timeline in the Age of Mortals accessory, the Gods (including the moons of magic) returned in the year 38 SC (421 AC). Thus we know that the Gods returned in the Winter of 38 SC and that the main storyline with Coryn begins in the Spring of 39 SC.

Somewhere in there, it says that the book begins somewhere around 6 months after the War of Souls, which would place it in springtime.

I'm not sure whether or not Niles followed the 18 month guideline with the Night of the Eye. He may have used creative license.

That would be far from the first time that particular "creative" licence has been used in DL.
