I'd just like to share with everyone the alternate recent history in my campaign. I never liked the history as printed in the prism pentat (most of the sorcerer kings being killed, the fact that they changed sooo much). I think the feel of athas is better kept with all the sorcerer kings but kalik being alive. So he're a brief run down of the history

fy 1: the heroes killed kalik during his transformation as planed. Tithian was crowned king of tyr and as his first act freed the slaves of tyr. The council was formed and the mines of tyr stoped producing iron because the only known way of mining was with slave labor.

fy 3-4: the army of urik invaded tyrian lands in order to force the new king to reopen the mines. the council was forced to reopen the mines using criminal laborers.

fy 5: the dragon came for his levy of one thousand slaves. the council of tyr refused and fought the dragon with tyrs armies and the heroes of tyr. unfortunatly the dragon of tyr is not the most powerful creature on athas for nothing. he crushed tyrs army and killed rikus in the battle. the council was forced to pay the levy with criminals.

fy6: the people of tyr errected a huge statue of rikus in honor of the hero that freed them.

fr 7-10 (present): while life in tyr is freer then any other city state it is still not the utopia that the heroes and early council members had wished for. because of tyrs reliance on criminal labor most crimes carry a harsh sentince of time in the mines or sacrific to the dragons levy. king tithian still rules tyr although he has little real power, most is locked in the bickering and politics of the council.

none of the other events in the book have happened in my game. all of the other sorcerer kings rule, rajaat was never freed, the storm and the earthquakes never ravaged the land.

I like your campaign history. Never like the progression of the books. Thought the first two were cool, but beyond that they got un-darksunish. I feel.

Oh well, like it!!!!!

Heh, anything that kills of Rikus is fine by me. Although in general, I follow the canonical events, I have always let the so called 'Heroes of Tyr' meet their untimely ends.

Good storyline. I also dislike the "Heroes of Tyr" and the events of the Prism Pentad.
