Or the three Hollow World adventures : "Nightwail", "NightRage", and . . . oh I forget the other one. These adventures blew my mind, and IMO are the best ever written. The world is being drained of magic, battling immortals, time travel, changing the fate of nations. great stuff. anyone else? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : havard Date : 09-25-07 06:59 AM Thread Title : Re: "Wrath of the Immortals" Ofcourse! :) I ran both with my old group in the early to mid 90s. The Hollow World adventures you mention are collectively referred to as the Blood Brethren Trilogy. The final module is called Nightstorm. I loved these modules, except for the ending which I felt was tricky to handle without ruining alot of the mystery surrounding the Immortals. It can be tweaked somehow though, I'm sure. Same thing goes for Wrath of the Immortals, or Immortal Fury which is the actual name of that module. WotI works very well as a Campaign Arch framework, but it is just that. A framework. You have to put in alot of details yourself, and preferably change some things along the way. Many people feel a bit too much is happening for a mere 10 year period. Spreading it out over 20 years might work just as well. Also, many of the negative effects should be turned into consequences if the PCs fail. Overall, the campaign can feel a bit railroady. But if you view it as a toolkit that you can modify as you like, it can be a blast :) Havard -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : Agathokles Date : 09-26-07 07:10 AM Thread Title : Re: "Wrath of the Immortals" I like the Blood Brethren Trilogy a lot. It's a good way to introduce the HW, as well as a great campaign for Expert-level characters. The only major issue is the badly explained trick that sets up the plot by sending the Immortals away. WotI is a good campaign framework, as Havard said, and obviously must be filled in with other adventures. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : havard Date : 10-01-07 11:31 AM Thread Title : Re: "Wrath of the Immortals" I like the Blood Brethren Trilogy a lot. That is true. Ofcourse that is likely going to trouble the DM alot more than the PCs. One sollution could be that only a group of important Immortals are "kidnapped", but as the others dont know where they are they have no way of rescuing them. I also like the idea of tying this whole plot-line in with the Return of Thanatos as outlined in DotE and the Rockhome gazetteers and ending with him being banished again, perhaps to return for WotI... :D WotI is a good campaign framework, as Havard said, and obviously must be filled in with other adventures. Other published modules can easily be used here. I would also consider leaving a few plot-lines out of it as there is really enough going on as it is. If you leave out the unlikely fire at Aasla, Alphatia should be a challenge enough on its own so you wouldnt have to bring in the Hule Invasions. That would also allow you to bring more attention to the elven war. Personally I would also recommend NOT bringing the PCs into the Hollow World. It is just too much of a side trek to be bothered with IMO.
