Secondly, is the cover art depicted on the pre-order of WotL mock-up art or is that the actual cover on the product? I am not displeased with the art - I've always liked it. Just wondering.

I can only assume that it is a map of Ansalon circa the Fourth Age.........What I want to know is if we Post War of Souls players are going to get a poster map at all? Perhaps Pre War of Souls Fifth Age on one side, Post WoS on the other?

Well there´s always the web Enhancement on the wizards site. I´ve used it and it works fine. As for pre- and post WoS...did Ansalon even change in appearance? The only thing I can remember about landscape-altering events was the darkness lifting from Nightlund. And the cities should pretty much be the same as before...shouldn´t they? There was going to be, but that didn't eventuate. So, the book is much longer in page count and there are smaller regional maps in the geography section, so it's still an incredibly good deal. #17 ferratus Aug 11, 2004 23:22:40	Chemosh has just became my favourite god. A foppish and jealous god of death, contemptuous of the gifts he gives. Great way to break a stereotype, being a fresh breath of air from the sepulchural death gods who would necromancy in adoration. It also makes sense as to why Takhisis always wanted to shag him. Much better than the fat and slimy Hiddukel, the decaying Morgion, or the whipped weiner Sargonnas.

#21 ferratus Aug 11, 2004 23:51:13	Yeah, I caught the not-to-subtle hint that this is going to be a story about vampires. After all, which other undead is portrayed as beautiful and youthful? What other undead pact is seen as desirable? Makes sense, given that vampires have always been the princes of the undead. They make excellent clerics and aristocrats. Would this be the origin story of why vampires are on Krynn? We've only had one minor vampire NPC in Krynn before, and he was very forgettable. I don't think he appeared anywhere outside of "Tales of the Lance".

Sorry Serena, circumstances out of our control prevented the poster map from being included in the book. (Though it defies the realm of believability, our cartographer suffered a heart attack the same day a lightning-based electrical surge fried his computer.) We tried our best to make up for it by increasing the length of the book from 224 to 320 pages--including a huge geography chapter that clocks in at 92 pages. (This does not include the Cities, Strongholds, & Ruins chapter which is impressive in and of itself.) I'll fix that pre-order description today. I hate it when that happens, serves me right for trying to use my brain before I've had my wakeup juice. I've never thought about vampires in Krynn before, has there ever been one here? Such a great idea, I like where they're going. Right then, I'm packing my bags and heading to hang out with Ravenmantle. I've got my laptop and some DVD's, all we need now is some Jolt or Denmark's equivalent.

All of the standard D&D undead have been represented in the setting in the past, although I daresay the horrible corpse-like type have been more common in the wake of almost four hundred years of constant war, unrest, plague, famine, conflict and hardship. Dragonlance is cursed...albeit an odd one. :D How else can you explain that? Unless of course the lightning also caused the heart attack... Well...as far as stores go, ToHS will be out September 1st and WotL will be out October 1st. But both (apparently) will be available at GenCon. From what I understand...both are already on their way over on (if you pardon the expression) "a slow boat from China." It takes a long time to ship anything over seas via boat. I know I was going to get an item from Korea...it was going to take almost 4 weeks to get it to me if I had it shipped "Sea-mail."

War of the Lance has been printed (hurray!) and is shipping advance copies by air so we'll have them next week at the show. The rest have to go by sea, which will take some time. Only the advanced copies for GenCon are being flown over...the rest are being shipped via boat...which is why (from my understanding) it won't be widely available until October 1st.

The video consists of a depiction of Margaret Weis talking about the book.
