Infernal Greetings, friends of high level dungeon dicing!

I have some questions concerning the greyhawk campaign setting and its development in the recent years.

1. How can I get a comprehensive and *cheap* overview of the up-to-date happenings in this game setting?
For Forgotten Realms, Wizard offers tons of free 2nd ed. modules, such as for the maztica and Oriental Adventures settings. If you don't mind playing older modules, you can spend years of dicing in the world of toril.
Although I browsed the www deeply, I could not find anything alike for The Greyhawk setting, which I consider much more interesting! I don't refer to some Living Greyhawk stuff, but to modules and sourcebooks for Oerth's different regions AND a timeline explaining the events after the greyhawk wars.

2. What are the openly available products for WoG up to date EXCEPT Temple of the Elemtal Evil (PC Game) the Stuff from Cannonfire and the stuff from Wizards?

3. Where exactly is the Temple of Elemtal Evil to be found?

Many of my DM mates share this problem: you tired or upset with the actual game settings like FR, Eberron etc. and want to focus your campaigns on some older setting but you simply can't get the informations you need for the conception of your own campaigns.

I know many people like Greyhawk more than any other Campaign Setting; yet they don't use it because of the lack of information. If more people knew how to get source informations without spending a ridicular amount of money on it, much more people would play WoG and not only as LIVING Campaigns.
Many people requested a new book and new addtions - I think to restribute the old stuff would attract much more players and keep Greyhawk from becoming a truly FORGOTTEN REALM.

Thank you for reading all this!

Welcome !

1. The Living Greyhawk Gazetteer will update you as far as 591 CY. Beyond that, the various regional websites of the RPGA should do the trick (although I freely admit not all are as helpful as one might wish in that regard). If you’re looking for “free” modules set in GH, then you’re out of luck. WotC/TSR isn’t as .. ah .. generous with GH as with, say, FR. Although you can still download the Great Kingdom gazetteer (aka Ivid the Undying) here.

2. Ivid the Undying (see above) + whatever you manage to get through the RPGA (Living Greyhawk Campaign) + CF (of course)

3. If you’re talking geography, then here, approximately at location N4-95

If you meant the module, then you can get it (along with the other modules) here, albeit not for free

Oh boy, you don't know what you've just stepped into ..

Thanks! This was the information I needed!:D :D

One more question: Why do the WIZARDS hold back the old 1st and 2nd edtion modules?

With Dragonlance they did the same and now DL will get a big update?
*rumors*
Could it be that they plan the same for WoG?
In the german edition of the Ad&d starter sets are some quotes referring to Greyhawk.
And then they released the ToeE Game last year and impressed many RPG Fans.

I think, Greyhawk: War of Souls is coming soon!

Or do they reserve it for some greater performance, as they did with the Birthright stuff two months ago?

I learn a lot about dicing in here! thanks!

Well, we can but hope...

That said, even die-hard fans are divided on this issue. Some feel updated material would be the greatest thing that could happen while others don't want to touch that issue with a 10 ft pole.

Take a look at various threads below (the one about EGG among others) for proof of that.

Also, keep in mind that GH keeps getting updates in the form of modules in Dungeon Mag. (thanks to Erik Mona), Living Greyhawk Journal issues, etc...

Not to mention that GH is still the "generic" world for all new WotC products

Last but not least, IF WotC turned GH into an "active" setting again, that would mean taking the issue out of the RPGA's hands, something I am sure would raise a storm of protests from LG fans.

OK, I made a long witty post and then accidently deleted it, pretend I was never here.

Scoti, I think he is talking about the books they are releasing for the Dragonlance setting. He was just making an analogy ;)
