Just for the heck of it, i did a search on the members thing - i have 3 old accounts dating back to '03 on it - crazy hey? that's what happens when work changes your email on your, and you move jobs, lose your old web-based emails etc.

Anyone else ever have to re-created a new account in a derivative name on these boards?

Just the mailing itself back in the day.

Don't ask me to recite them, don't remember them all, I think there was at least two though.

Probably Qrycherna and ToolPrst since those were both my nicks on IRC at the time.

Not this board, but there's been other boards, e-mail accounts, heck, even IM names (I used to have one of the first ICQ numbers, and my MSN, Yahoo and AIM names were all basically the same thing. I used to have a much shorter hotmail account name before Microsoft took them over, etc.)

Yeah, it is easy to do - i suppose it would be nice to 'fold' all those old accounts into one - i've been on this board for yonks, but current account makes me look like a (relatively) newbie. Bah, who cares? how weird is it when you lose a Yahoo account, find it, then there's tons of off-line messages waiting for you?

Actually, when I had gotten my domain name back in January, and had my server running, I got my e-mail addresses working again, and came to the discovery that there was still many places that were trying to send e-mail to my old addresses. Unfortunately, they've also become psycho-spam drop-off addresses, where with one of them, I was getting a spam e-mail every 5 seconds. Very annoying.

Every five seconds? that sucks man. So you are the man, if i want to get my own domain happening, to talk to eh? thinking of setting up a site for my consulting services. I had a mate who was into IT (net related) but he's in the UK now, i really don't care who designs my site as long as it's a good on and helps bring in the $$$

Well, when I say "server", I'm sure visions of some powerful, highly capable system that can handle several things at once, comes to your mind. But, in actuality, I mean a Pentium-MMX 166MHz system with 82MB of RAM. The only thing going for it technology-wise is a 120GB hard drive. I've got it hooked up through a simple 10/100 Network card into my LAN. 'course, it's running a very, very optimized Linux system, which I've tweaked in efforts to get every last bit of performance from my server, and it runs an apache2 system with MySQL4 and PHP4, plus a Samba share for me to access from other computers on my network. All in all, it's actually rather unimpressive, but it works for me, at least until I finally get a job, and can afford something better. (And I prefer my own server, because I like to work on everything about that computer, and find it best when it's actually in my house and stuff).

My biggest problem right now is... a total lack of a static IP address to be able to assign my domain name to so my site can come back online. Of course, I've also been rewritiing how my site worked, building the entirety of it from the phpbb system, expanding it to suit my needs. Been working on it for a few weeks now, and I hope people like it.

Oh, Jaanos, my PM inbox is empty, it might work this time. Strange, I only had 2 messages in it earlier. Wonder what they did to the PM system.

Edit: Wierd. I've now emptied my Sent Items folder as well. But I'm wondering if the PM system is currently not working due to the changes WotC is making to the boards. I don't have any PM's in my inbox or sent items folders. Nothing. If you are still being told that my inbox is full, then I'd suggest e-mailing me: xlorepdarkhelm@yahoo.com.
