I have been working, slowly, on pterrans stuff for 2 years. Although few is complete, here is the timeline of the pterran society. Please tell me what you think about it !

Pterrans Timeline

King’s age Year Free Year Event

Prehistory None particularly Before World Calendar
Pterrax’s roamed the athasian sky long before the rhul-thaun became civilized. They, as many others animals races, have seen without knowing it, the rise of the rhul-thaun civilization (and eventually it’s fall).

1st Friend’s Vengeance -14554
The nature-benders, a new secret organization of deviant rhul-thauns, research ways to overthrown the nature-masters and become the leaders of their society.

7th King’s Fury -14108
After years of research and many twisted experiences on the pterraxs, the nature-benders, manage to create a race of strong and capable walking soldiers; the Pterrans.

7th Guthay’s Fury -14079
The nature-benders, after year of slavery upon the Pterrans, and their use in the war again the nature-masters, are finally surprised by their own creation. The Pterrans rebelled again their masters and fighted for their freedom.

7th Ral’s Reverence -14071
The nature-benders, waging war on two fronts, are defeated along with their cleric allies.

7th Island’s Defiance -14069
Pterrans lives as small free nomadic tribes.

8th Ral’s Defiance -14027
The Pterrans tribes, now more populous, are scattered and most disappeared with the Brown Tide disaster.

8th Island’s Agitation -14025
Most of the surviving Pterrans Tribes gather near to what will be call the Jagged Cliff, which appear soon after the sun turns to yellow, resulting of the evaporation of the sea.

22nd Silt’s Fury -12897
Between the Jagged Cliff and the Ringing Mountain, a verdant savannah and a forest expand and help the Pterrans tribes to grow in number.

23rd Ral’s Fury -12883
The Pterrans civilization was flourishing. A total eclipse of Ral and Guthay made them believe in a sign sent by Mother Earth, that it was time to accomplish something different.

23rd Friend’s Contemplation -12882
One year later, their fate was confirmed, a brilliant star, send by Father Sky, felled on Mother Earth.

23rd Silt’s Slumber -12831
Many pterrans gathered around this spatial artifact known as the Star Rock. So much, that a great city was build in a few year around the cult object; Ptogarr was born. The basis of the pterrans live will be settled by the one who gave is name to the city, the one which everyone followed to establish and build the first great city. His last wish before dying was that no one would rule alone, but three.

25th Wind’s Contemplation -12714
The first Triumvirate council is created.

54th Desert’s Contemplation -10439
Ptogarr population reached 20000 souls. Another 5000 pterrans was living in small or medium cities with such name as Sharpen Beak, Scalewall, Pterg, Pterran Vale, and Outpost Claws.

63rd Mountain’s Agitation -9797
Rhul-Thauns scouts found their first pterrans outpost.

64th King’s Slumber -9653
Cultural and commercial trade begins to flourish with the Rhul-Thaun of the Jagged cliff.

65th Wind’s Defiance -9645
The strange object in the middle of the city of Ptogarr began to attract the curiosity of the peoples of the Jagged cliff and they decide secretly to take some small parts of the mysterious object.

65th Silt’s Reverence -9630
Rhul-Thauns specialists find a refractive and amplifying property to the rock and tell the pterran that eventually the Star rock may become a threat for the city.

65th Ral’s Contemplation -9627
Cultural misunderstanding lead the pterrans, which believed in the divinity of the rock, to find that the Rhul-thauns were corrupting and defiling the link between Father Sky and Mother Earth.

65th Guthay’s Fury -9628
A war erupted between the two nations. This war, called the Ten Thousands Mindmelt eliminated many small rhul-thaun outposts and villages on the Jagged Cliff border as well as several medium size pterran cities.

74th Guthay’s Vengeance -8891
Seeing nothing good to Mother Earth health, a young pterran psion named Ugiicc started to convince important pterrans to stop this war.

74th Silt’s Defiance -8882
Ugiicc, the Peace-bringer, as called by many, settled an arrangement with the high council of Thamasku which was pleased to settle this war, having troubles with the swamp at the base of the cliff.

75th Ral’s Fury -8879
Peace established for many years. Few, and small, troubles appeared between both peoples, but always settled for the good. A frontier was recognized by both nations.

135th Friend’s Agitation -4225
Many powerful preservers build the Fortress of Dasaraches in the Dragon Crown Mountain.

144th Desert’s Fury -3531
Rajaat creates his Champions using the Dark Lens. Sielba of Yaramuke becomes the 7th Champion, Destroyer of Pterrans.

149th Wind’s Agitation -3133
While exploring the Hinterlands, on the other site of the Ringing Mountains, Sielba found Ptogarr, capital of Pterran society.

149th Mountain’s Reverence -3120
Before attacking the great city of Ptogarr, protected by the powerful Triumvirate, Sielba managed to destroy all others small and medium Pterran settlements, except for the city of Pterran Vale, which was much farther to the south.

156th King’s Defiance -2624
Sielba siege the city of Ptogarr.

156th Friend’s Vengeance -2619
Urmanak, one of the most powerful wizards followers of Sielba, discovered a way to amplify one of his master death spell: The Star Rock reflecting property.

156th Desert’s Slumber -2618
Sielba destroyed a huge part of Ptogarr with the unleashing of a powerful increased spell through the Star Rock. Followed by her armies, the champion marched over the city, exterminating almost all the pterrans.

160th Dragon’s Agitation -2307
Sielba proceeded with the hunting of the remaining pterrans of Ptogarr and his explorations of the Hinterland. This led her to find the Fortress of Dasaraches in the Dragon Crown Mountains. Many of the remaining pterran found refuge in the last pterran city of Pterran Vale.

160th King’s Contemplation -2305
Urmanak is killed in the assault on Dasaraches by Sielba army.

161st Mountain’s Contemplation -2207
Rajaat send Uyness and Gallard help Sielba, two champions who finished their task of extermination already, with the preservers fortress which is eventually turned into ruin after many devastating assaults of the War-Bringer armies.

164th Desert’s Vengeance -2024
Sielba left the Hinterland for a motive unknown to the pterrans. The cleansing war is over with the imprisonment of Rajaat the War-Bringer.
The pterran never returned, for a long time, pass the Dragon’s Crown Mountains, fearing to find the Champion of Rajaat responsible of their extermination.

166th Friend’s Fury -1816
After two centuries of peace, within Pterran Vale, small conflicts concerning what should be the warrior path begin to appear.

166th Desert’s Contemplation -1815
After a small civil war, to settle this divergence peacefully, a quarter of Pterran Vale inhabitants left to found another city: Lost Scale

166th King’s Slumber -1799
The difference of opinion of forgotten and peace return in the Pterran society.

170th King’s Fury -1557
Dark citizens, outpath, misguided and outlaws pterrans, gather to form the Renegade society, a questionable social gathering that hide and soon become forgotten for some years.

171st Friend’s Fury -1431
Icchicc, leader of the renegade, head is peoples to Pterran Vale triumvirate, kill them and seize power.

172nd Silt’s Contemplation -1402
The renegades are chased from the council and the city by three powerful pterrans known as Hoicc Fastfullthough, Verarr Sharpclaws and Ruhirr Sombertree. These 3 are soon nominees as the new Triumvirate.

190th Mountain’s Fury 4
The Order activates the Psionatrix. Thri-Kreens, all over the lands, goes frenzy, forcing the pterrans to reinforce their wall and their protective armies.

190th Friend’s Agitation 10
The Great Earthquake strikes, opening a great rift to the west, in the Jagged Cliff. The Thor-Kreen empire as now a way to easily enter the Hinterlands and the Tablelands. Pterrans begin to worry about this new threat.

Beyond None particularly After FY10
The Pterrans see the earthquake and subsequent aftershocks as a message, send by Mother Earth to is children, to get more involved in the affairs of the planet, of many changes in the land and start spreading over athas; something they never did.

Thanks mate, this is excellent work, can't praise it enough! i'm going to try and persuade the group i DM to play Pterrans during the cleansing wars for thier next campain

This is similar to my theory that the Thri-kreen were actually a life shaped slave race used by the rhulisti. Curse the new board for losing that thread!!!! :headexplo

Do not worry, I havent stolen this ideas here, on the board. I created this timeline about 2 years ago. I just didnt had finished the years and the last part of it. Everything is original and from my brain

Actually, its great stuff. I've always seen the pterrans as kinda bland. Glad to see someone breathing some life into them. Nyt changed my opinion of villichi, now your doing the same with pterran. Thanks much, and let's see some more!

I am reviving this thread so the new peoples can see what I had worked on about the Pterrans. Just in case they have ideas about these.

I will start working slowly again on this project (maybe it's going to be done in 10 years?! argl! D&D5ed !

I've taken the liberty of taking Grummore's timeline and, hopefully, making it more readable. No offense to your abilities, Grummore, I fully appreciate that English is not your first language. So, hope this helps...

Pterrans Timeline

The nature-benders, after years of enslaving the pterrans for use in the war again the nature-masters, are finally surprised by their own creation. The pterrans rebel against their masters seeking to gain their freedom.
-Ral’s Reverence
The nature-benders, waging war on two fronts, are defeated along with their cleric allies.
-Island’s Defiance
Now free, the pterrans begin forming small nomadic tribes.

Despite steady growth amongst the scattered pterran tribes, many are destroyed by the Brown Tide.
-Island’s Agitation
Most of the surviving pterran tribes gather near to what will be called the Jagged Cliffs, which appear soon after the evaporation of the sea.

22nd King’s Age (-12897)
-Silt’s Fury

Between the Jagged Cliffs and the Ringing Mountains, a verdant savannah and forest expand. This helps the pterran tribes to grow in number.

Sielba begins her siege on the city of Ptogarr.
-Friend’s Vengeance
Urmanak, one of the most powerful wizard followers of Sielba, discovers the amplifying effect present in a looted fragment of the Star Rock.
-Desert’s Slumber
Sielba succeeds in amplifying her magic through the Star Rock Most of Ptogarr is destroyed in the magical assault that follows. Followed by her armies, the champion marches over the city, exterminating almost all pterran resistance. In the years to follow, many pterrans will find refuge in the last pterran city of Pterran Vale.

160th King’s Age (-2307)
-Dragon’s Agitation

Turning to the north, Sielba resumes the hunt for remaining pterrans. She soon discovers a large number of pterrans finding refuge in the Fortress of Dasaraches.
-King’s Contemplation
Urmanak is killed in the assault on Dasaraches.

161st King’s Age (-2207)
-Mountain’s Contemplation

Rajaat sends Uyness and Gallard, two champions who have finished their task of extermination, to help Sielba crush the preservers fortress. After many devastating assaults by the Champions’ armies, Dasaraches is left in ruins.

164th King’s Age (-2024)
-Desert’s Vengeance

Sielba leaves the Hinterlands for reasons unknown to the pterrans. The Cleansing Wars end with the imprisonment of Rajaat the War-Bringer.
The pterrans fear discovery by the Destroyer, and thus remain primarily in the Hinterlands for centuries to follow.

166th King’s Age (-1816)
-Friend’s Fury
After two centuries of peace, within Pterran Vale, small conflicts concerning what should be the warrior path begin to appear.
-Desert’s Contemplation
After a small civil war, a quarter of Pterran Vale’s inhabitants leave hoping to resolve their divergence peacefully. They found the pterran village of Lost Scale.
-King’s Slumber

-King’s Fury
The Renegade Society, a questionable social gathering of misguided and outlaw pterrans, is formed. They quickly go into hiding and are soon forgotten.

171st King’s Age (-1431)
-Friend’s Fury
Icchicc, leader of the Renegades, leads his people to Pterran Vale. He succeeds in seizing power and kills the triumvirate.

172nd King’s Age (-1402)
-Silt’s Contemplation

The Renegades are defeated by three powerful pterrans known as Hoicc Fastfullthough, Verarr Sharpclaws and Ruhirr Sombertree. The three heroes are soon elected as the new Triumvirate.

190th King’s Age (FY4)
-Mountain’s Fury

The Order activates the Psionatrix, and the resulting psionic field causes all thri-kreen in the area to frenzy. The pterrans are forced to bulster their defenses. The village walls are strengthened, and more warriors are trained for their protective armies.

190th King’s Age (FY10)
Friend’s Agitation

The Great Earthquake strikes, opening a great rift to the west, in the Jagged Cliffs. The thor-kreen empire now has a way to easily enter the Hinterlands and the Tablelands. Pterrans begin to worry about this new threat.

After FY10
The Pterrans see the earthquake and subsequent aftershocks as a message, sent by Mother Earth to her children: to get more involved in the affairs of the planet, to promote changes for the betterment of the land, and to start spreading over Athas; something they’ve never done.


NOTE - at first glance, it appears some of the dates might need fixing, but I have not had time to check for sure.

The passage marked in red, I just couldn't make sense of in my tired daze. So if anyone else wants to give it a try.....?

There could be error in the date, but I took great deal of time to be sure. Although, one can never be certain.
