Welp, I'm going to incorporate the reinstating of the Tower of Palanthas, or Nightlund now, and was wondering if in the Legends book that is slated for 2005 will actually have floor plans for the Tower.

I've been spending the past few days making up the interior of the tower, so I guess it doesnt matter too much if it will or not anyways because 2005 is too far away (I'm not going to wait 5-6 months or whatever) heh. I've been looking through the Towers of High Sorcery book and the Atlas of Dragonlance to help guide me, but they both don't exactly give a lot.

Just was wondering if Dragonhelm or Cam would know if it would be mapped out. I was hoping that the Towers of High Sorcery book was going to show more floor plans for most of the towers, but oh well. I do realize some of it is extradimensial, but it would have been nice.

The best thing to do when mapping out a tower is to draw out a few dozen "unique" rooms and make 4 "general" rooms. The unique rooms are specific places (cafeteria, library, Headmaster's quarters, sentient creation chamber of doom, etc.) whereas the general rooms are things like "student's room" or "storage room".

The layout of the tower can change based on the will of the Master of the Tower, so one layout might not be accurate a week later.

I remember the story of a young mage who decided that he was going to map out the interior of the Tower of Wayreth. For 30 years he continued to update and change his map, trying to keep it current with the actual layout of the tower. He finally went insane, deciding to wander the countryside where there were no "room layouts" or "extradimensional storage closets of doom". Something about green robes and dancing under the moonlight while making the trees grow better.

The Towers are like Doctor Who's TARDIS, in many respects. There's simply no way the inside could fit into what you see on the outside, and although long stretches of time go by without the layout being rearranged, and certain rooms always look the same, the place is prone to changing without notice.

TRRW's suggestions and the Atlas of Krynn are probably the best thing you're going to have, unfortunately. I don't know of any specific plans to map out the Tower of Nightlund or any of the other towers, for the above reason.

Cheers,

Arent some of the floorplans included in the Dragonlance Adventures Book and in the Tales of the Lance softcover?
