Wow. Now that's a nice little sneak peak of the geography section. Population statistics, a nice regional map, and even adventure ideas in their own section. :D I can't wait to get my copy of this fabulous book!

I was somewhat surprised to see how low Solamnia's population was...

A lot of people seemed to think it was an overpopulated nation, when in fact it's a fairly depopulated one centred around the Lordcities and other cities and towns. The Cataclysm really did a number on it, especially in the areas which are now coastal.

What's cool is that Solamnia has over 50,000 dwarves living within its borders. :D Now that's a healthy amount of dwarfdom.

What you see is pretty much what you get. The book's already been printed.

Speaking of grammatical errors. I was just at the hobby shop the other day and saw the recent re-release of Blackmoor as a campaign setting ... 'cept it was referred to as campagin. :embarrass

A campagin is related to the dreaded sahuagin, and is a scaly-skinned aquatic humanoid with mollusc traits. Its head looks like a clam filled with razor-sharp teeth and it propels itself through the water with jets of water and kicking feet.

The book looks great. I do wish that they had proof readers go through the books before they were published. All those errors make the company look ignorant.

People do proof read the book before it goes to print, and indeed several people have read any given section of the book multiple times before that happens, correcting errors, adjusting rules statistics, and so on. Sometimes, despite all of this care and attention, typos and minor errors remain, but it is not for lack of trying.

Everybody who worked on the War of the Lance put quality and consistency at the top of the list and worked very hard to create a solid, valuable product. I think they succeeded, and for my part I know that some very high standards were being held to throughout the process.

I've pretty much accepted the fact that there are no perfect copies of any of the D&D stuff I buy. I don't know if thats bad or good, just to give in and accept it heh. On the good side, I don't get mad if I see one or two errors and throw a fit. On the bad side though, I guess its wrong to just accept stuff and not demand better... but who knows.

Sovereign Press stuff hasn't ever bothered me with the few errors I see in their books. All the books look like they are really well researched (which is about the most important thing to me, god I hate inconsistancies, although I know it happens) and the designers do seem to do stuff with the best intentions (even if I don't agree with everything, I can still admit that the stuff is good). The only thing I've ever been bothered by is things showing up later than what was scheduled. I understand problems happen and one month or so doesn't bother me so much.. but its been several products and way more than one month. But I can even get over this because of the high quality thats been put in the products. Also, I'm just amazed I actually like the glossy paper. Way better than just regular, and a heck of a lot better than black and white.

If you want to look at problems, get the Complete books. The Complete Divine has huge errors in it and people were wanting a reprinting the day it came out. The Complete Warrior wasn't perfect either. The Forgotten Realms stuff caused such a big deal also with errors, inconsistancies, reprints(where they took blocks of information straight from 3.0 stuff and now in 3.5 books that information is irrevelant), that they hired a bunch of new editors. Rich Baker was talking about it on his Ask Rich Baker thread. They had such an outcry they had to do something.

As I said before, little things don't bother me and the stuff I see in the Dragonlance stuff is pretty small. So I've been pretty happy with my products so far, even with the errors heh
