I must have missed a supplement somewhere, but I noticed the new Ravenloft map does not have the Nightmare Lands anywhere now. Did they disappear with the Grand Conjunction or later? If so that sucks, because that was one of the coolest domains in Ravenloft!!! And the PCs really couldn't survive without an Abber Nomad guide is what made the lands more interesting.

The Nightmare Lands were given an *excellent* treatment in the Nightmare Lands boxed set. I believe it did "disappear" in the Grand Conjunction. Probably this is my single favorite RL product after the original boxed set. In it the Nightmare Court and surrounding lands were removed from the core though they potentially overlap with with the dreamscape of everyone who goes to sleep. It may also be possible to reach them by sailing into the mists beyond the eastern sea. Finally there is a mistway that leads there from the old assylum in Nova Vassa for those crazy enough to sleep within its walls.

.. and there were hints dropped in the original (2E) Masque of the Red Death campaign that they could also be accessed from there. Fact is, I wouldn't be too surprised if they showed up as a future accessory of the new MotRD product line. After all, the end of the 19th century was more involved with psychiatry than the medieval-like domains of the Core (though there were exceptions, I know).

After the Grand Conjunction they were yanked from the core and became an Island of Terror (yanked may not the best term as really Nova Vassa really spread out and took the Lands on the old map with whole cities moving east).

They became an IoT in the Red Box but were really undefined and not detailed. The Nightmare Lands boxed set offered a far better look at the land and a brief reference to them was also given in the Domains of Dread hardcover campaign setting.

In theory the Island is in the Nocturnal Sea (which was first mentioned in the Nightmare Lands boxed set) but as an Island of Terror it moves about the seas so its possition is impossible to chart and it has been seen elsewhere. As mentioned it is also acessible through dreaming in any realm making it useful for crossover campaigns.
