I just tried to go to the Margaret Weis book signing here in Salt Lake and it was cancelled. I asked someone there and he said that the rest of the tour was cancelled as well. I've also noticed that the book tour page seems to be gone from the WotC website. Anyone else know anything about this?

That is just so sad. Many people were looking forward to that tour. I hope that Margaret is okay.

The lack of announcement about this leaves me disappointed, because even though I did not go, I had plans ready in case I could manage it last minute.

I don't attribute this to anything more than Margaret being worn out from the convention season, but it's frustrating nonetheless.

I just glad someone finally said something something (official). It bothers the hell out of me when companies just ignore questions like these.

EDIT: Updated info from Margaret on her website.

Somebody mentioned that she didn't make the Salt Lake City stop, which would have been the 15th iirc. The night after she was to be in Colorado.
So, I have no idea whether she made it here or not.

Another thing that irks me - why did you guys at DL3e.com pull the tour info so fast?

I can't speak for the DL3e.com staff, but we pulled the tour information at the other sites because the tour was over. Taking it away was a step to avoid confusion.

Margaret's next scheduled online appearance is Wednesday, September 22nd at 8:00 PM Eastern Time on the EN World chat rooms (www.enworld.org). Her next public appearance is at the Fields of Honor convention in Des Moines, Iowa. Keep your eyes on MargaretWeis.com for more information.

*chuckle* I used to live an hour from Des Moines. Did she ever make this convention before? That would be more of my rotten luck. ;)

I know a fellow who went to Fields of Honor a couple of times with his son when I still lived in Iowa. They seemed to enjoy themselves alot.

Extra note from me: I was just checking out the Fields of Honor website, and they've got it noted that Margaret is their special guest.

Also, toward the bottom, I see that another special guest is Fredd Gorham, a friend and fellow member of UNIT (a Dr Who fan club in Iowa).
*sigh* I haven't seen Fredd in years; haven't seen him much on AIM lately either.

Fields of Honor is a convention owned and operated by our friend, Darryl Sheldon, of Regal Hobbies. Margaret will be there for the entire convention, with a few scheduled signings during the show -- but also just hanging out and playing games. The Sovereign Press staff (including myself!) will be there as well.

We don't attend many smaller, regional conventions during the year but truly enjoy it when we do, because it's a chance to work less and play more.

I hope you can make it, Serena! Be sure to say hello.

The Nexus made the announcement after it was announced on MargaretWeis.com and Dragonlance.com. We try to stay pretty current!

Hrm....that's a 4-hour drive down the road for me. I wonder if Mrs. Dragonhelm is up for a trip...

Well, it seems the High Goddess has nixed the idea of me going to Des Moines. Something about no money and nothing for her to do save watching the kids while I have fun.

She also gets two votes to my one. ;)

I know they sell day badges at Fields. I'm guessing $10 for a day, or something close. We're looking forward to meeting you, Serena!

Ah, poor Dragonhelm.

Maybe you need to hug a teddy bear or even eat a bucket of chicken wingd to help you to go on with life?

I could always cast a spell to make you forget about your troubles too!

We have a VERY limited stock left over from the convention season, so whatever we have will go with us down to Des Moines for fans to purchase signed copies of the book. War of the Lance should be out in stores by then, however.

Luckily, I live in the Kansas City area, home of the best BBQ there is. Had me some Smokin' Guns today, so I felt much, much better. Let's put it this way - the meat has such flavor, you don't need sauce!
