Cyrus has recently posted the North Ledo map on Dark Sun Rising, so I thought I'd go ahead and start with that one. Here is what I've got: Fortified Bridge - Puente Fortificado Village Piers - Muelle Barracks - Cuartel Town Hall - Ayuntamiento Dwarven Belly Inn - Posada de la Panza del Enano ( suggestions?) Catapults - Catapultas The Well Shed - Pozo Cubierto Provisions Storage - Provisiones Dry Goods Storage - Depósito de Mercancías Temple of Earth - Templo de la Tierra Rubble Berm - Reducto de Escombros(Here is what a Berm is) Estuary of the Forked Tongue - Estuario de la Lengua Bifida (Oh, and Pardon the lack of accents... No ALT key codes on Linux)

English: forked tongue French: langue fourchue Spanish: ?

It basically paraphrases the Berm. I'd never heard the word "reducto" before (sounds like "reducir"). Is it commonly used for this sort of feature? In front of my elementary school, we had El Parque Reducto: A place where, in the 1800s,the citizens of Lima had made a stand against the army of Chile (and got massacred (of course, if you had history courses in Chile, the story could differ slightly)) after the Peruvian army had fallen back to the Andes... They made wide waist-high walls of rubble, trapezoidal accross the section, which have all the advantages of a trench without the inconvenients. The English word would be redoubt
#5 zombiegleemax Sep 16, 2004 10:47:13	Very nice. Learn something new every day :D. It seems that your word is more appropriate to the area (at least if I have it pictured correctly in my mind). I'll ammend the list at the top. Would "Reducto de Escombros" be redundant?
#6 murkaf Sep 16, 2004 11:47:26	Would "Reducto de Escombros" be redundant? I think it would be OK... I guess you could build a redoubt out of quality materials, if you had the time for quality control.
#7 zombiegleemax Sep 16, 2004 11:53:19	Gotcha. I just added it because Reducto sounded too short. The more I repeat the word to myself though, the better it sounds.

Here is a list with suggested translations for anyone who might wish to give their thoughts on it: Sand Dunes - Dunas de Arena Cistern - Cisterna The Kemalok Gate - Entrada de Kemalok Gate of the Setting Sun - Entrada de la Puesta del Sol Gate of the Rising Sun - Entrada del Sol Naciente Plaza of the Sun - Plaza del Sol The Cities Tab has been completed... Master Translation List (2004-09-20) Very cool . And thanks for placing the Spanish translations in there, Murkaf. One quick correction: Undertown should be "Pueblo Sumergido"

#11 zombiegleemax Sep 21, 2004 7:55:57	What would you say about Gate of the Setting Sun - Entrada del Anochecer / Salida del Sol Gate of the Rising Sun - Entrada del Amanecer / Entrada del Sol / Puerta del Sol Actualy, why not change "Entrada" for "Puerta"? Damn, that's a tough one. I was looking for a word that sounded as "grandiose" as the word gate should be, but I can't find one. I think "Puerta" does works well. I definetly like "amanecer", but if we use that one we should keep "anochecer" for consistency. Yet would the Kledans use a word with no overt reference to the sun(for "anochecer")? Would "Puerta del Sol Naciente" and "Puerta del Sol Descendiente" work? I just feel like the word sun should be in there No Problem. :heehee
