I'm guessing that you have to go from A to B to C etc... using the class routes but I don't know how to make people not explore the map further. Or maybe they can ?? Anyone who has played it know ??????? Not used to outdoor adventures, with each hex being 1/2 mile I guess they just automaticlly find the encounter spots ? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : SamualT Barronsword Date : 10-12-07 05:59 PM Thread Title : Re: Question about AD&D Adventure UK5 Eye of the Serpent AD&D Adventure UK5 Eye of the Serpent Call me stupid but the route system by class for the map, is it meant to be that the open routes are the only way to go in that looking at the map you could get to every encounter by simply taking a longer way around the map. Anyone who has played it know ??????? Not used to outdoor adventures, with each hex being 1/2 mile I guess they just automaticlly find the encounter spots ? UK 5 is not a adventure I'm familiar with, but in most outdoor adventures, unless specifically stated otherwise in the encounter description, it is assumed the PC's will automatically run into an encounter if it is marked on a hex they move into. Of course, as DM, you can simply ignore encounters or block off access to areas you don't want the PC (s) to go ("nope you can't go that way, the vegetation is to thick", "cliffs are to steep", etc...). -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : bloodtalon Date : 10-12-07 07:13 PM Thread Title : Re: Question about AD&D Adventure UK5 Eye of the Serpent i have it. the routes are kinda geared for certain classes to give them the best situtations and most bang for thier buck -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : mutantpoo Date : 10-14-07 02:57 AM Thread Title : Re: Question about AD&D Adventure UK5 Eye of the Serpent It says the trip down the mountain will take several days, with the hexes being 1/2 miles I would guess so. Do most just basiclly say" Umm okay, it's dark time for you to camp , okay it's daylight which way do you go . "wait 5 mins and repeat, because there really isn't alot for them to do on the way down unless they they head back around the blocked routes from the rear which would take them across the map [ several miles in the area around Weed Lake ] ? Just not used to ouside adventures. It doesn't mention any dangers from nighttime tempatures in the snow area or anything. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : SamualT Barronsword Date : 10-14-07 06:26 PM Thread Title : Re: Question about AD&D Adventure UK5 Eye of the Serpent Depends upon my mood and how much of a hurry I was to have the PC's get to where they were going and how important it was for them to get there in one piece. If I wanted them down the mountain in a hurry and in good shape to face what was to come, I might just roll a bunch of dice behind my DM screen, pretending to care what the results were (even though I'd ignore them) then say... "It takes you three days to get down the mountain, nothing of note happens on the way down, scratch off three days rations of food, anyone who is injured has gained back three hit points from natural healing plus spell casters have had three days to cast spells and heal party members if they so desire. Any questions or comments?" -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 6] Author : mutantpoo Date : 10-15-07 06:32 PM Thread Title : Re: Question about AD&D Adventure UK5 Eye of the Serpent Thanks, that's probably what I need to do. Ceratinly help speed things along. Is the Cleric's footman's flail a 2 handed weapon.? Going by the description in the arms and equipment guide [ 4 or 5 feet long ] I assume it is though it does the same damage as the footmans mace except against Large targets. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 7] Author : SamualT Barronsword Date : 10-16-07 04:19 PM Thread Title : Re: Question about AD&D Adventure UK5 Eye of the Serpent The second edition PHB list the Footman's flail as a Medium melee weapon, meaning it could be used one handed in that edition. I would say you couldn't use it while riding though, as the ball on the end of the flail would be hitting your own horse on occasion as you "flailed" it around. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:22 AM.
