I was thinking of slipping some of the board regulars in as passing NPC's in my upcoming campaign, and I was wondering how those of you with board personas would describe your fictional alter-ego's appearance, what roleplaying notes you'd give for him/her, where she/he would be likely to be found, stats or class suggestions if you feel they are necessary, etc.

"You know me. I am one who lives through the Cadence. The one you call Rhys is a conduit of its energy. And so, by its ever-present arrangements, I am able to serve others as Councilwoman of the Sigil Advisory Council."

Well, Rhys is a pre-existing NPC, but she usually keeps busy with her new governing role. She's a high-level wizard/monk (I believe, according to the PW stats). She usually comes off as a little distant. Her ability to seemingly percieve instants into the future (a misconception- it is the ever-transcendent Cadence of the Planes which exists in the future, and she simply lives through it) is oftentimes disconcerting. Personality-wise, I think of her as a little cold, speaking frankly, and never reconsiders the past. She is always thinking in and of the present as it is and the future (also as it is, interestingly), and has little time for those who do not understand her and do not actively seek enlightenment.

*looks for Primus & Shemeska*

I'm not famous 'round here or anything, but far be it from me to miss an opportunity to shamelessly promote myself. So here we go.

Name: Prophet of Chaos.
(The name is a referennce to his spontaneous "sermons" on "The Structure of Chaos" Some say he's got the inklings of a new faction...)

Appearance: A bright orange, hooded cloak which covers his entire body.
(He never shows his face, and the rest of his clothes are the same color as his cloak. Many have come to believe that he is actually a group of Xaositect namers, who are using the Prophet disguise as a prop for various pranks)

Class: Cleric (of Limbo) or Sorcerer 4-8

Location: Most frequently the Hive.

From my entrance on the City of Doors Guild Hall Thread:

The gathering is interrupted by the sound of thundering hoofs, which gradually draws nearer and nearer to the meeting place. Suddenly, a black carriage bursts into the room, pulled by eight armanites (four black, four white). The carriage finally comes to a stop, after nearly trampling several of the gathered. The vrock driver hops off the carriage and opens the door for the new guest. Out steps what appears to be a very tall and heavily muscled ebon-skinned man with six fingers, glowing green eyes, pointed ears and smallish fangs. He is wearing a white cloak and way too much silver jewelry, while a wavy blade at his side constantly drips acid onto the floor. He snaps his fingers and his vrock servant begins to pour a foul-smelling liquid into a wine-glass.

Graz'zt is brilliant, subtle, and charmingly evil. He's also ridiculously powerful - one of the three most powerful lords of the Abyss and unlike his hated rivals, Demogorgon and Orcus, Graz'zt's not divine. Demogorgon has physical strength, Orcus has the biggest worshiper base, and Graz'zt has the most Abyssal territory. Graz'zt always has at least three schemes going at once, usually involving one of his myriad children (such as Iuz the Old of Oerth).

He has attempted to place his daughter, Thraxxia (?) into the Faerunian pantheon by usurping Waukeen (whom he had held captive for a couple of years after the Time of Troubles). He still plots to drag Toril into the Abyss. His agent in Sigil is Rule-of-Three; both the marquis cambion and the Abyssal Lord seek an end to the Blood War, a united Lower Planes, and a war with the Planes of Good (all under Graz'zt's rule, of course).

The Abyssal Lords Baphomet and Yeenoghu are said to have started their rivalry while manes in Graz'zt's command. The mysterious Abyssal Lady, Pale Night is rumored to be Graz'zt's mother (the father is usually described as a powerful entity of Chaos). The xvart deity Raxivort was once Graz'zt's master of slaves, before looting the Black Prince's strongroom and fleeing to Pandemonium. The demigod Iuz is Graz'zt's son, conceived while Graz'zt was a prisoner of the archmage Iggwilv (Graz'zt later returned the favor and dragged Iggwilv into the Abyss).

Wow, it's been a while.

I have dozens of signature characters, but this particular board name references my first real original character, Enoch Van Garret the quarter-drow.

Six feet tall and over two hundred pounds heavy, Enoch Van Garret has perfectly normal human features (and statistics) except for the fact that his skin is an off-blue color and his short, neatly combed hair is stark white. He usually wears light armor such as a mithril chain shirt and favors the greatsword.

Enoch is a quiet but kind person who generally is just trying to get along as best he can in this crazy multiverse. Previously caught up in a plot to assassinate Lord Nasher Alagondar of Neverwinter, Enoch successfully defeated the assassin and uncovered the rebels behind the plot. Betrothed to Nasher's daughter Eloia, Enoch received a rather rude shock when assassins came to murder he and Eloia in his bed - which Enoch was not at the time occupying, but his fiancee's secret lover was. Morose and bitter, Enoch left Neverwinter to pursue his fortune across the planes.

Enoch Van Garret: NG Human Male, Ftr4/Bbn2/Rng1/Rog2/Horizon Walker3; Speed 40; AC 26 (10 + 7 armor [+3 Mithril Chain Shirt] + 2 deflection [+2 Ring of Protection] + 3 Natural Armor [+3 Amulet of Natural Armor] +3 Dexterity +1 insight [+3 Parrying Spellbladed Greatsword]; Attacks +21/+16/+11 [+3 Parrying Spellbladed Greatsword]; Damage 2d6+10 [+3 Parrying Spellbladed Greatsword]; Saving Throws: Fort +16 Ref +13 Will +6; Abilities STR 24, DEX 16, CON 14, INT 16, WIS 10, CHA 12; Feats: Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack, Power Attack, Cleave, Endurance, Karmic Strike, Combat Reflexes, Combat Expertise; Skills: Disable Device +14, Open Lock +14, Search +14, Spot +10, Listen +10, Diplomacy +11, Knowledge (geography) +9, Knowledge (the planes) +13, Sense Motive +5, Survival +5; SA Sneak Attack +1d6, Rage 1/day; SQ Trapfinding, Improved Uncanny Dodge, Evasion, Wild Empathy, Track, Favored Enemy (Dragons), Terrain Mastery (Desert) - Immunity to Fatigue, Terrain Mastery (Underground) - Darkvision 60 feet, Terrain Mastery (Acquatic) - +4 to swim checks; Possessions +3 Mithril Chain Shirt, +3 Parrying Spellbladed Greatsword (Spellblade protects against Disintegrate), Belt of Giant Strength +6, Gloves of Dexterity +2, Amulet of Natural Armor +3, Ring of Protection +2, Cloak of Resistance +3, Ring of Protection from Evil, Boots of the Mountebank (as cape), Gem of the Planes (as amulet).

*Note* Enoch Van Garret's equipment exceeds the normal treasure value for his level due to the recent demise of his traveling partner Kefkez Bruscus, who was killed by an ice elemental and could not be resurrected. Word on the lower planes is that Kefkez is now serving in the Blood War.

**additional note** Enoch Van Garrett was originally a 3.0 edition character. The above statistics are after conversion to 3.5.

I'm hardly one of the famous regulars, but what the hell.

The Faceless One (pl/♂tf/T3/W3/BC/CN)

The Faceless One was an orphan from an early age, adopted by the Bleak Cabal. His name derives from the fact that he tries as hard as possible to not let others see his face; indeed, he usually spurns contact with 'the nasty, horrid peopleses' if at all possible.
He is ever so slightly on the edge of being barmy, and others often notice his impressive collection of facial tics in addition to his wild-eyed glances and hundreds of bizarre conspiracy theories. However, this is all a show: it is only on his return to Pandemonium that his true insanity surfaces - with stagy, rolling fits of manic-depression. As should now be obvious, Faceless is a bit of a dramatist (some would say 'attention-seeker') who takes himself rather too seriously.

It is entirely possible that he is in fact merely a front for a particularly deranged shator Gehreleth, or a dust mephit called Archibald the Magnificent.

Faceless is almost never without his trusty companion, Bob the Planewalker. (pl/♂h/P4/At/CG)
Bob is a frustrated member of the Athar, long ago cursed to silence by an unnamed power for the heinous crime of colouring in all the engravings in the power's holy book.

Ryltar Swordsong is a battle-scarred elf. A jagged scar runs from his hairline to his right eyebrow. His left arm is a magical elven prosthetic made of an adamantite/mithril alloy. Scars criss-cross his chest, and a large black tattoo covers his back. Accidently finding a portal to Sigil, he has stayed on the Planes, finding adventure where he can.

As for stats, I still haven't gotten around to updating him from 2e.

primemover003

The tall, narrow doors to the red marble rotunda are opened by a wizened man in loose robes. His most noticable feature is the humongous mustache below a hawk-like beak of a nose. Deep brown eyes peer out from below bushy brows, his gaze seeming to pierce through to your very thoughts...

"Welcome to the Hall of Seekers. I am the curator, primemover003... but titles are so formal. Some find it easier to call me brother Grey. Here in the Hall you will find the many wonders members of the Mind's Eye have brought forth from the Planes. You will also find a gallery devoted to to our parent Factions, the Sign of One and the Believer's of the Source..."

mithral_icesilver_02

Well, my character's name is actually Mithral Silverwave (he's gone through a few changes of name), a CG aasimar ranger/wizard/elemental warrior (best prestige class in the PlH) with Str 15, Dex 17, Con 10, Int 19, Wis 8, and Cha 6 (he's only really a ranger for the favored enemies; he absolutely HATES baatezu). His favored enemies are (Evil) outsiders, (Lawful) outsiders, and (Fire) outsiders (he took the Extra Favored Enemy feat from Masters of the Wild). He's gone through some of the rituals in Savage Species, and now has the Aquatic, Chaotic, Good, and Water subtypes (he took the last one to gain the Final Strike (Water) feat). He also has Improved Familiar (which is currently a half-bronze dragon pseudodragon with a superiority complex and a kender's mindset called Spearmint). Mithral and Spearmint can usually be found in the City of Glass if they're not in Sigil. To compensate for Wisdom penalties, he has both Iron Will and Cumbrous Will. He's suffered a slight temporal displacement; he's from about 1000 years in the future, and belongs to a faction called the Revealing Light (also called the Shiners and the Nosy Berks; he carries a notebook with their insignia). He carries a waterproof haversack with him. The haversack usually contains a modest amount of cash, a few gadgets (his favorites are a light he clips onto his book and an electronic moigno (that is, a book light and a calculator) and a number of books, and has a special pocket (with a portable hole inside) for Spearmint. Officially, he's with the Athar in this time period.

Bob the Efreet is big and purple. He's a merchant, and his shop tends to teleport around the planes. The shop can be located easily, because it has big, gaudy, glowing signs proclaiming it as 'Bob's Pants'. The name comes from Bob's signature magic item: Pants of Infinite Holding. It's said his pants can't actually be infinitely deep, but Bob claims that he hasn't reached their holding capacity yet (and claims that one time he carried a spelljamming ship inside them, but he has no witnesses to confirm it). Bob keeps all his merchandise in his pants, which can be unnerving to people who see him use them for the first time.

Bob claims no relation to Baggin' Saggin' Barry from Nickelodeon's All That.

Wow, quite a few bashers and bloods on this thread. Well, I see if I can grab what little of the spotlight remains.

Quinn Planesrunner:
A 5' tall male human with long blonde hair usually tied in a pony tail with a leather thong at the base of his neck. As his name implies, Quinn can be found anywhere on the planes. He's a knight of the post specializing in deciphering obscure texts. Whether or not the text does or does not contain any power is irrelevant to Quinn it's the challenge of deciphering an unknown language which thrills him. His manner is subdue but bitter with a deep hatred of baatezu. His clothing in contrast to his manner is flambouyant usually in colors of purple, red, and blue. He is always looking to expand is network of contacts to become a lord of the post. He carries a bastard sword of platinum color. It's rarely seen but on his back is a tattoo of a pit fiend head spiked on a bastard sword. It's rumoured that he is a child of the Power Bastet, but the dark of that is likely to remain so.
