(copied from athas.org frontpage)

We're always busy working on official projects at athas.org. Here is an update on the current projects with priority.

Dregoth Ascending: The work on the much awaited first part of Dregoth Ascending is in full progress. David Tisch (Cyrus9a) is assisting us on map creation.

Terrors of the Deadlands: The Monster Bureau has been busy these last months with Terrors of Athas. These guys continue to impress me all the time. Now they're working on updating Terrors of the Deadlands from 3.0 to 3.5 rules.

Tyrian Conspiracy: I've received some very good feedback on the preview of the update from 3.0 to 3.5 rules. The public playtest is still going on. Expect a final release in October.

DS Core Rules 3.5: The largest remaining parts of the Core Rules 3.5 update are the psionics and spells chapters.

Prestige Class Compilation: Prestige classes are being developed for Dregoth Ascending. The doc currently has 28 prestige classes and more are to follow.

Epic Rules: The Epic Bureau is still working on the advanced beings rules and other rules concerning these concepts, such as dragon magic and psionic enchantments.

Other projects: Secrets of the Deadlands, The Emissary, Whispers of the Storm 3.5 update, City-State of Draj 3.5 update, Lost Cities. These projects are either put on hold, or progressing slowly.

Since I am always the one who complain about the lack of update and information on the current projects. THEN, I will be the first to thanks athas.org for the now informations ! :D

Now that you have showed us the what's going on at athas.org, why dont you tell us about the ideas you have in mind and that you would eventually be interested in making these come through?

I have on my project page, stuff about "Faces of Athas", "Ruins of Athas", maybe anything else? Fluff, fluff!

I'll add to this that I'm working on backend stuff for the site. Once I get access to a remote server with php5 (latency testing over the local net is a little ... deceptive) I'll know whether or not I'm using a CMS, or just going to go ahead and ramp up work on implementing my own thing.

Faces of Athas I'm going to do not quite so much as a full-fledged PDF product, but as something primarily web based -- you'll be able to generate pdfs (eventually) ... but anyway, the infrastructure for that will go in place just after I get the FAQ stuff set up. It's a relatively high priority. ;)

Shame I dont udnerstand how it work. For me, a .php is about the same thing than a .html... Just the tag that change.

You need to reorganise that priority list.

Lost Cities should be on top, everything else should be put on hold.

Unfortunately, our primaries on Lost Cities have been rather silent of late. Brax is busy busy busy in school, and Will was never terribly talkative (which means that he may still be plugging away at things, and not telling anybody ... but, actually, I think he's Iraq at the moment. IIRC.)

I've been working on the Lost Cities project as well on the side, but I've heard nothing from either of them since Spring this year. So, the list of priorities remains as is for now.

Though, I'm pleased to announce that you can expect Whispers of the Storm to be updated to 3.5 rules and a preview version released for public playtesting/review before the end of October.

Pardon my ignorance, but is Lost Cities a post-TSR product or just from Athas.org? My mind is blanking.

I'll be waiting with bated breath...:D

It's just from Athas.org. Lost Cities will detail the two lost city-states of Kurn and Eldaaritch.

I've sent the pdf to Flip. Once he posts it on the athas.org website, I'll start a feedback thread.

Just to let everyone know, the DA Maps are progressing nicely and I hope to be finished with my first batch within the week. I also want eveyone to know that I also have 80% of the Deadlands map finished for Athas.org. I was given all the info for it and as soon as I can read through it (over 100 pages) I'll be able to finish it long before the project will be completed. When that happens I'll discuss it with the project coordinator and see if we can go ahead and release it.

Since I'm still slowly but surely bringing together material for my Blue Shrine project, might I enquire as to whether any of the DA maps you're working on detail anything in the Dead Lands and the left edge of the map? I'd like to avoid duplicative efforts if possible.

Not any of the DA maps. The Dead Lands map I am making is based off of the Secrets of the Dead Lands stuff I was given. It details everything about the Dead Lands, the nations and the size of the Dead Lands. Nothing I have deals with the Blue Shrine at all though.

Here's a status update for athas.org projects per the beginning of January 2005.

Dregoth Ascending: Part II The Quest is in the works. Expect a playtest release some time during the first half of 2005.

Prestige Classes Compilation: A prestige class compilation document featuring around 40 prestige classes for Dark Sun will be released for public playtesting by the end of January.

Athasian Arms and Equipment Guide: A new project to be handled by the Equipment Bureau which will detail athasian weapons, armor, alchemical items, magical items, psionic items, vehicles, poisons and possibly other item categories.

Terrors of the Deadlands: The work on updating Terrors of the Deadlands to 3.5 rules is proceeding as scheduled. There are many small improvements still being made. The end product will be worth the wait.

DS Core Rules 3.5: There are still some issues that must be settled before we release an updated version incorporating the errata and feedback we've received.

Epic Rules: The Epic Bureau is still working on the advanced beings rules and other rules concerning these concepts, such as dragon magic and psionic enchantments.

Other projects: Secrets of the Deadlands, The Emissary, City-State of Draj 3.5 update, Lost Cities. These projects are either put on hold, or progressing slowly.
