I would like to ask the members of Athas.org:

If a french translation is done for the official Athas.org documents, would it be possible to post it on the site?
If yes: WOUHOU!
If no: Would it be possible to post it on some other site?
(it is clearly stated that :

This means that fan-created add-ons (such as new net books, adventures, etc.) are jointly owned by both Wizards of the Coast and the creator; neither can do anything outside the official website without the permission of the other.

I know the interest from the french speaking DS community is there, and some attempts at beginning have been done, so I think that all it would take would be a coordinated effort and it could be done.

We have the GO for translating.

The DS3.5 French document will have to be posted elsewhere, but the people at Athas.org are willing to post a mirror on Athas.org, linked off the same page as the english version.

I will soon be posting an Excel document with all the Athasian specific terms.
(We will be using the official translation document for DnD 3.5 terminology as well as the translated SRD which you can find at www.asmodee.com)

As for the official translation of Dark Sun 2nd edition, we have been given free rein to keep it or overwrite it...

Ce qui nous amène à un choix semblable à celui des cartes...

A) On garde la traduction officielle là où elle existe. (Keep the terms of the official translation as they are)

B) On modifie la traduction là où elle est "ridicule". (Change the tems of the official translation where needed)

C) On fait comme B), mais on rajoute la traduction officielle entre parenthèses. (As B), but adding the official translation in parenthesis)

hum... I'd go for B), but I dont know, C) would be correct since many french products were created...

Still pondering.

Sorry for the delay.
Family and work problems.
Everything should be under control.

Will have begun by next week.

Going to use Community approved translation [(official translation)] format unless someone points out a GOOD reason not to...

You could post it on our site! We would be glad to help.
