The Athasian Dolphins

It’s common knowledge by now that my theory on Athas’s creation comes from the existence of Mindë: the essence of life on the world. (Athas’s DNA)

Before the Blue Age (Rhulisti in a water world)

Now since the beginning of Athas as we know it seemed to have been a water world (Blue Age) it is safe to assume that life as a whole started under the waves. (As on earth)
Other than the micro organism era that was needed for a new era to come forward, some bigger creature began to emerge. One of them was an aquatic mammal called the Dolphin (You don’t want to know how they called themselves back then: It’s a high pitch squeal.) I like to imagine a young Athas filled with aquatic mammals of all form (killer whales, whales, etc.) But the most intelligent of them all were the dolphins.

Dolphin’s secret

With time, dolphins developed an interest for elemental science and nature as a whole. Unlike the Rhulisti who later became masters of the art, dolphins never the less discovered fantastic ways to manipulate the element surrounding them: water (or any fluids for that mater) In reality they had found one way of manipulating Mindë’s essence which was found in abundance in every fluids on Athas during the Blue Age (and before) Thus, the ancestors of the elemental cleric of water was born. I believe secret dolphin wonders could still be discovered to this day if someone took the time to look for them. (like a historian/geologist/archeologist of new Kurn under the wing of Oronis who want to know anything regarding the past. ( the reason should be obvious to all)

Dolphins to Rhulisti

Was it that some dolphins evolved into a bipedal race known as the Halflings or did the Rhulisti appeared akin to the pristine tower phenomenon? That knowledge is lost of course but one thing is obvious: dolphins and Rhulisti were good neighbor hence together evolved much faster and achieved wonders in a short amount of time

More to come if it interests you. (I’m at work and it’s time to go home)

Hmmm the subject doesn't seem to stir any brain storming over the waves here.
