There was a trilogy of novels and a 4th standalone novel published under the Planescape name. And they are woefully at odds with canon material, all of them. 'Pages of Pain' was fairly well written aside from the canon issues. The other trilogy of books was ... questionable... to say the least. The Lady of Pain's griffon riding shock troops. Need I say any more about those three novels?

the trilogy was good. it wasn't "true" PS, but in terms of spirit it was magnificent.

Unless its free Id spend my money on more PS source books than a novel. Although if you can get em for a dollar or two thats all right.

I think the best planar book by far was the Glass Prison by Monte Cook... and it's a FR novel! Main character was a cambion, Vheod Runechild. However I think the Torment book was a good one too.

Trilogy blew bariaur's backsides, and PoP was only OK (Troy Denning did better Darksun).

You also might want to chekc out Finder`s Bane and Tymora`s Luck, which are FR novels, but deal with things extraplanar incl. Sigil and the Gods.

The adaptation of the Torment game was awful. Play the game, if you can find. It's worth the money.

I've recently gotten ahold of Pages of Pain and it's pretty good so far, but I haven't had time to penetrate too deeply into it. There's also Ken Lipka's archive of Planescape fanfiction (linked to above) where you'll also find a story I wrote called "The Hive" (there is also a link to it in my signature). Enjoy!
