I like the racial paragon classes in Unearthed Arcana, and I thought it was about time DL had some. I've fully statted out all the Draconians, plus the Gully Dwarf and Kagonesti, except I'm not sure if they're balanced. And also, I spent the last half hour or so typing these up, and then I accidently closed the browser(doh!), so for right now, I'm just gonna go over the basics I was going for in each class, and you guys can giv eyour opinions:

Baaz: Well, since Baaz are basically foot soldiers, I just made them good fighters. d12 HD, good Fort saves, good BAB, skill points 4+Int mod, but their class abilities are a little weak. They get 2 Figther Bonus feats(at level 1 and 2), +1 Natural armor(level 2), +2 Str(3), and the Spectacular Death Throe feat(3), to take their killer down with them. It just seems too bland to me. Any suggestions?

Kapak: The Kapaks main shticks are their saliva and their sneakiness. So, I gave them sneak attack +1d6(2), +1 natural Armor(2), +2 Dex(3), and the two Enhanced Saliva feats(from Jamie Jamber's Draconian Feats for the Holidays Web Enhancement)(1 and 3), as well as a d10 HD, average BAB, good Ref, and 6+Int mod skills. I like it, but the Natural Armor doesn't really seem to fit, and I would like to give +2d6 sneak attack.

Bozak: THese guys make good clerics, wizards, sorcerers, and leaders. So, I give them d10 HD, good BAB, good Will, 4+Int mod skills, +1 to any spellcasting progression at every level, the Leadership feat(2), and +2 to Int, Wis, or Cha(3). I like this one, but it may be a bit powerful.

Sivak: Super fighters. I gave them d12 HD, good BAB, good Fort and Ref, 4+Int mod skills, and some spell resistance(1), +1 natural armor(2), and +2 Str(3). The abilities are bland, but the class basics(HD, BAB and the like) are really good. How much SR is too much?

Aurak: Since these are the arcane spellcasters, they have d8 HD, average BAB, good Will, 4+Int mod skill points, SR(1) and natural armor(2), similar to Sivak's, +1 to arcane spellcasting progression at every level, and +2 to Int or Cha(3). It also seems a bit bland.

Gully Dwarf: Well, how can you improve upon a creature who's biggest ambition is the sit in its own waste eating rat stew all day? Well, you can start by giving them d12 HD, average BAB, good Fort and Ref, an 2+Int mod skills. Now, what are a Gully Dwarf's main attributes? Well, they can survive almost anywhere, can live through almost anything, can beg and plead not to be hurt, are notorious cowards, and fight like rats when cornered. Sinc eyou can't improve upon being cowardly, I basically enhanced their racial abilities Survival Instinct(1), Hardy(2), and Pitiable(3), adding double effect for each, gave the Cornered Rat feat(1) for free, and gave both a +2 Dex(2) and a +2 Con(3) bonus. This might seem a littl eover the top, but think about this. Gully Dwarves *SUCK*! So of course, they need a beefed up super-class. And, I think this class goes *GREAT* with Highbulp Phudge III.

Kagonesti: The Elven Paragon class goes just fine with Silvanesti and Qualinesti, but it doesn't really fit the Kagonesti. They get d10 HD, good BAB, good Fort and Ref, 2+Int mod skill points, Elfsight(like the ability described in the Elven Paragon class in Unearthed Arcana)(1), Weapon Focus(in a Kagonesti racial weapon)(2), +2 Dex(3), and +1 to ranger spellcasting progression at every level. I might up this to Druid spellcasting, if this is too weak.

So, how does this sound so far? Got any suggestions? Plese, no paragon class bashing, even if you don't like them, are the classes balanced? I tried balancing the Draconian classes to the Half Dragon Paragon, the Gully Dwarf to the Dwarf Paragon, and the Kagonesti to the Elf Paragon. I htink I'll do the Sea Elves next, then, Gnome, Kender, Centaur, Irda, Ogre, Half-Ogre, Minotaur, Tarmak, and finally Half-Kender. Whew! That's more than I thought there would be. Even more if you guys think there needs to be a Dragonspawn Paragon. Anything else that would be a good Paragon is in a gaming product I don't own(likely the Bestiary), so if you wish to see these done, send me money so that I can buy these products.

:OMG!

I don't know paragon classes, but these are so unreasonably cheap that everyone would get them, no matter what. It makes there be no point to getting any other class 1st-3rd level, because those classes are just too powerful. The sheer unreasonableness of these one's power makes them too cheap to be true. Look at the Baaz, for a random example. Str bonus, a bonus feat EVERY LEVEL, a d12 hit die, twice the fighter's skill points... and he's average strength for one of them. I don't know if this is paragon bashing(I like the idea of paragons, actualy) but these classes are too powerful. Like i said, everyone would get them. I think that they need to be powered down severely to be merely the strongest classes.

I did some racial paragon classes for DL, which are posted in an issue of the Tobril at tobrilmagazine.com.

I keep meaning to get them on the Nexus. File is on my old computer. Grrr...

Geez...I never said they were perfect, and I even said I thought they might be too powerful...when I said the Baaz class abilities were a little weak, I didn't mean weak as in underpowered, but weak as in unimaginative and bland. And anyway, I did reference the Half-Dragon Paragon for the Draconians, and they seemed okay compared to them. And anyway, it would be a simple matter to simply...reduce the HD and the skills, maybe remove a feat, keep it to one good save, etc.
