I had an idea for the Minotaur sociaty, it would be kinda like the Romans. They already fight in arenas, and I almost always imagian them wearing Roman style armor. What do you guys think?

That seems to be where the writers have been taking them. The only major difference is that the minotaurs lack the Roman's engineering skills.

But otherwise yes, they are a Lawful Evil militaristic society that is functionally very similar to the Romans. They're currently at a transition point not unlike when Rome changed from a Republic to an Empire. Granted, the minotaurs were already ruled by an "emperor". But the position was mostly based on winning duels and was thus too unstable. Plus being largely restricted to the islands kept them from really being a true "empire".

But now with their new rulership and expansion on the way they seem to be following the course of the Roman Empire. I wonder if it will take as long to slide into decadence?

I've always thought the minotaurs were based on Roman society. I just thought that was a given. There was a 2E sourcebook that was about as Roman as you could get.

The Ansalon minotaurs are really only pseudo-Roman.

The Minotaur League of Taladas, on the other hand, is very Romanesque. The minotaur Emperor there even wears a toga.
