I know that this is a much heated discussion and probably been run into the ground but (come on you knew it was coming ;) ), who has made the most accurate representations so far of these creatures and could someone post links? Yes I know I could run a search and slog through the countless posts and threads dealing with this but I'd rather not :D

Xlorep Darkhelm has a very accurate conversion of dragons and avangions. SEARCH for it!!!! He also is one of the members of the Epic bureau.

I know this may seem a little redundant , but just for ***** and giggles why doesnt a moderator just sticky a non-reply post concerning all the "dead kank" questions. such as dragon avangion conversion to 3.5 , SK names levels racial war target etc.

I know that all of that can be found using the search function but so often people chose not to bother so that can all be squashed by just using a sticky =)

I have my own write-ups, and the Epic Bureau is working on a pretty cool version as well. Hopefully, once the Epic Bureau gets a version completed, then this will cease to be the Kank of the Living Dead.

Depends on how you define accurate. There are several models, do a search (i posted some links to some good sites with some conversions) look at the models and decide if *you* think they are accurate conversions, if you like them, use them, if not, make you own. Other than that, get in line and wait for the athas.org system....

Thanks everyone for the information, xlorepdarkhelm has provided the info that he has for the avangion and dragon progression. I truly think that it's top shelf stuff!

In the mean time I'll do as Jaanos ordered and stand in line... ;)

If it gets too long, we start using random lightning bolts.

Rather than start a new thread on this topic, I just had some random ideas I wanted to toss out to the community for potential advanced being powers.

Most (all but painful premonition - that should just be a new psionic power) of the mind mage prestige class (Dragon 313) abilities definitely need to be included. As written, I think it's a pretty overpowered prestige class, but spreading the abilities across a broader range of levels, and having much more intense requirements would seem to fit for me. I particularly like the ability to spend PSP's to replace higher leveled spell slots for metamagic feats and to juice up the caster level of spells and expecially the Twin Wells ability which allows you to double count either your arcane or your psionic class levels from the prestige class. This would help offset any gap in caster / manifester level that was incurred in order to meet the requirements for advanced being metamorphisis.

Some kind of ability where any arcane spell either currently memorized, or cast in the last x number of days, could be replicated by spending an appropriate number of power points for a power of the level of the spell. What I am meaning is that casting a normal arcane spell takes its energy from the outside world. An advanced being can replicate the effect of that spell, but power it from within himself. Each time a spell is memorized, it leaves an "impression" that isn't completely erased with the casting of that spell, and a caster who is such an advanced psionic being can pick up on that impression and mimic it. Maybe it shouldn't be as efficient as spending enough power points for similiarly leveled power, but you get the general idea.

As part of the avangion aura, I would like to add some additional defense powers. In fantasy literature, I can think of many many examples of a wizard marshaling his defenses, surrounding himself with layers of power, and marching into combat. When I read something like that, I'm not visualizing casting mage armor and globe of invulnerability, but something much more "free form". I propose some kind of shielding, where the avangion would allocate spell slots to this shield, each spell slot giving protection equal to spell level + caster level or something similar, leading to a shield with a pseudo-hit point total. Incoming spells would chip away at this shield, each spell doing caster level + spell level damage to the shield. Each round as a free action, the avangion could repair damage to his shield by spending PSP's. The avangion would have to determine how defensively oriented they were going to be, compared to their need for offensive or other uses of spell slots. As the avangion increases in levels and the aura expands, this protection can shift from self to party.

I also have read something that would fit well for an advanced being or Champion of Rajaat.
Check out the Warlock's Imbue Item ability (from Complete Arcane): it can be used as is, wording and all.

Any update to the status of the Avangion & Dragons?

I've started to re-re-read all my DS novels & I'm really getting some ideas for possible epic level play.
