Eberron (and other) Races in Greyhawk

Ok, for my future Greyhawk campaign, I'm thinking of adding some of the latest racial creations of WotC to the setting of Greyhawk, along with some others:
-Warforged
-Elan or Kalashtar
-Beast-Kin (essentially a highly variable and customisable race of animal-human hybrids.. Yes, Furries.)

Now, I'm also fast-forwarding the timeframe to about 50-100 years down the line, so I can introduce various other developments, such as Clockpunk and Steampunk technology, along with a twist I call "The Children of Iuz."

Now, I have some ideas as to how to introduce the various races: The Elan or Kalashtar, I'd give an origin connected to an article from way back in Dragon #281: The Talaire, a race of psionic humans from another plane of existance long ruined by the Illithids, and now migrated to other worlds where they build homes for themselves and wage a war against the Mind Flayers.

Now, for the other races.. Who on Oerth would be most likely to build Warforged? My best idea so far is having a group of Gnomes and Humans spark a "Technomagic/Clockpunk" revolution, with Warforged being one of their creations.

For the Beast-Kin/Furries, my best idea was for them to be exiles from another Prime plane, fleeing a terrible enemy and bringing with them some new tricks, like Mecha technology from DragonMech...

So, any opinions or alternate suggestions?

My own Greyhawk Campaign has a gnome city in the Hellfurnaces (south of the maps) called Novastokkar. These gnomes speak with suel accents (German in my campaign), fly giant rhinosaurus beetles and zeppelins, and use a great deal of technology. Officers in the air force are generally technomancers (from the "Magic" D20 book) and there is a precident for clockwork mechanical "men." The city has no contact with the rest of the Flanaess (the gnomes having been slaves to the Suel and only escaping just before the Rain of Colorless Fire). They even have aeroplanes.

If placed in the future, they could be the ones that either crafted the warforged, or passed the information along to men (or had it taken by force).

I used the old Top Ballista (from basic D&D) for the city map and aeroplane states with the gnomish zeppelin information coming from the boxed Princess Ark set.

My players had fun in Novastokkar though their characters almost didn't escape. The gnomes tend to be xenophobic and once the PCs arrived, they were told they would not be allowed to leave.

Umm, isn't it obvious. The Oeridians. They were the ones that were building war machines immediately following the invoked devestation, and are responsible for things like the Apparatus of Kwalish and the Machine of Lum the Mad. I wouldn't be suprised if they had warforged technology back then too, just lost to history during those chaotic times.

Why does everyone insist on importing tinker gnomes from dragonlance into everything? People used to hate tinker gnomes almost as much as kender. I prefer my gnomes to not give a fig about technology.

No offense Halber but my technomancer gnomes were NOT tinker gnomes. They were competent, intelligent, and part of a military magocracy.

I am thinking of adding changlings to my WoG game... either just adding them, or perhaps totaly replacing Skulks with them (I never liked skulks anyway).

Technomagic is already part of WoG's history. As Halberkill mentioned, the Machine of Lum the Mad and the Mighty Servant of Leuk-o are ample proof of that.

More references can be found in the article about the Belching Vortex (LG Journal issue #1) and in the adventure "Kambranex's Machinations" (Dungeon Mag. issue #91).

The reference to the Apparatus of Kwalish is, however, incorrect. Kwalish was a Baklunish inventor. Not an Oeridian.

Beast-Kin (essentially a highly variable and customisable race of animal-human hybrids.. Yes, Furries.)

Add furries to Oerth and I guarantee my character would be off to join the local cult of Tharizdun. The end of the world couldn't come soon enough at that point.

...Thank you. I was wondering when the obligatory furry-bashing would come up.. :P
