Well, I just got the Bestiary of Krynn(I *LOVE* it!), and I was reading about the different kinds of true Dragons. I was thinking about some things, and two thoughts popped into my head simultaneously: "What will they do with Gellidus? He's the weakest and stupidest Dragon Overlord, and he's the only one left", and "Wouldn't it be funny to have an Amphi Dragon Overlord?" Then, a thought occured to me. Maybe, Gellidus elevates an Amphi Dragon, Fire Dragon, Frost Dragon, and Gray Dragon to Overlord status. But, he'd still be the weakest(except maybe the Amphi and maybe the Gray Dragon). Then, I thought, what about a Shadow Dragon Overlord? Then, the most horrible thought of all came to my mind: Gellidus is the only Overlord that has no published stats. What if, there's more to Gellidus than meets the eye. Maybe...he's a Shadow Dragon in disguise! If this sounds plausible, I might see about making an alternate setting, a la War of the Dark Lance, featuring the Heroes of Quinari and their quest to stop the Shadow Dragon Overlord Gellidus and his other horrible minions. Of course, helped by Jake Solo, the Dragon Mage(my DM NPC that used to adventure with them), Kell Solano, the Vassal of the Platinum Dragon(my older brother, who went to college), and Whistler Tunesinger, the Brass Kendragon(I've mentioned this story before, dragon in kender's body).

Frost dragons and gray dragons don't exist at the same time, since all the gray dragons of Krynn became frost dragons during the Chaos War.

Oh...they can't *ALL* have became Frost Dragons.

...

Or, maybe they did. So, you got another (evil) dragon variety? if not, then, there's at least 1 left.

EDIT: Oh, Cam, do you care if I PM you about something game-related?

...He's the weakest and stupidest Dragon Overlord, and he's the only one left...

Isn't that a contradiction? :D

I mean to me he always seemed like the only one smart enough to know the limits of his own capabilities and what a tactical retreat was. In my campaing anyway he is the smartest villain around. As long as the players keep thinking he's this huge moron they'll keep underestimating just how much he really controls things (I hope none of them stumble into this thread now).

I'll approach this from more of a story perspective.

The question you should ask yourself is what this course of action would accomplish. What good are new dragon overlords, even if they do have a bit of “cool factor” to them?

It seems to me that replacing the overlords leads back to the status quo. Now, perhaps you might see about developing each one’s personality a bit more.

An alternate history is the way to go here, I think. It can be fun in that players will think they’ll know what to expect, and when all is said and done, they may not.

Hope that helps.

Well, of course, they won't be in control for 40 some years, these new Dragon Overlords would be something quite temporary, which involves the PCs banding to gether with the Legion of Steel, Solamnic Knights, Dark Knights, and Wizards of High Sorcery, and any other heroes who wish to help, to defeat this menace.
