Over on the 'Divine Right' thread, I saw a mention of St. Cuthbert intervening twice in recent Flanaess history.

In what years did these interventions occur? Where did he manifest, what was his purpose in so doing, how did things turn out, and in what Greyhawk publication will one find further details?

(I'm aware that the - uh, probably the first intervention - was back in the 470s, when Cuthbert joined some lesser powers in confining Iuz beneath Castle Greyhawk... but I still don't know why. Speak, if you have knowledge.)

Why not? A balancing of Iuz' power.

The other instance was in the Temple of Elemental Evil.

Hey, all. Interesting question.

My understanding is that St. Cuthbert appeared once, about -1100 CY to put down the false god Zinkman; and then he can potentially make an appearance in adventure T1-4 The Temple of Elemental Evil, depending on PC actions, about 580 CY.

But, I'd definitely like to see some more input on this question.

St. Cuthbert was in the Temple of Elemental Evil. Also, didn't he appear in the Vecna module, or am I remembering incorrectly? (Lost it long ago.)
