I asked once before about Planescape land based mounts but now I'm interested in flying mounts. I know of all the typical D&D 3.5 flying mounts from the monster books but I'm wanting to make sure I'm not missing anything from the old PS 2e monster books.

And just for kicks, what about PS underwater mounts?

Uh, well, there are always those planewalkers who ride around on Wastriliths and rust dragons...

Really, there aren't that many land mounts in Planescape, and there are even fewer mounts that fly or swim. It's just not a direction Planescape goes in. In Planescape, you're exploring the edges of reality, so you're supposed to deal with what you find there, not bring your own ride. Besides, it's hard enough fitting a horse through a portal. Try a horse with wings.

I think I've seen some creature (walking, not flying) being used quite a lot in the Lands. Can't remember where though, probably Mimir.net or Planewalker.com

Kirin
Lammasu
Shedu
Dragonne
Dragonel
Arrowhawk
Couatl
Nightmare
Any kind of Dragon
Terlen (flying shark, very cool)
Chimera
Manticore
Sphinx
Gryphon
Hippogriff
Roc
Chaos Roc

Slap an anarchic, axiomatic, celestial, fiendish or an elemental template on any normal mount and you have a planar mount. (i.e. celestial pegasus)

You can add the winged creature template from Savage Species to any normal mount or a planar mount to make it flying. (i.e. winged unicorn)

For instance you could have a winged fiendish monstrous centipede. Now that would be impressive and might set your average jaded cutter's bone-box a-rattling.

How about a winged, anarchic mastodon?

A celestial winged panther?

A winged fire-element dire boar?

A winged axiomatic giant iguana? I would not say no to one of those. But remember: never look a gift axiomatic giant iguana in the mouth... ;)

What were the "wind horses" from the end of The Well of Worlds. Think they started with an "A".

Note that none of these are really Planescape mounts (which is what the poster was asking for, not 'planar' mounts in general), considering all of them existed before or after Planescape was in print.

I WILL add Animentals to the list, though, which could pretty much encompass every Prime-based mount, with an elemental twist.
