I have all the Dark sun book. In the Book of atifacts (not the dark sun one but the ad&d one) there a page with some cover of other TSR book, and there a Dark sun one i never found. I cant read the title cause its too small. We see a back view of what look like Magnus (or a Tarek?) in the silt holding a walking stick and there a city on the horizon with the sun behind it.

What is this book?

I tough I had all the DS product (i cheked with the list on athas.org). Did TSR made book with alternate cover?

Nov 29, 2004 15:02:45 It's the Valley of dust and Fire. I know of 5 different covers for some of the known DS Accessories, all drawn by someone called DEN, who I think is Brom, at least when doing his first "drawings". The Covers were all drawn and coloured before the Book was finished, as teasers I guess, because they changed them later.
Dragon Kings had a cool Dragon on the cover with a Red background, however it was changed into the "Hamanu" Dragon, also a cool one. If you like I will send you the first covers via e-mail.
The same is true for the Valley of Dust and Fire Accessory and for the Asticlian Gambit Adventure.
Dune Traders and Veiled Alliance have the same cover but slightly altered.

Those Covers are good BTW though not really finished.

Nov 29, 2004 15:47:34 The same is true of Defilers and Preservers (the draft was better than the finished product IMO), CbtSS, Mind Lords of the Last Sea, and Ivory Triangle. Plus the TSR pamphlet released before DS came out had draft covers for the original box.

I have an 56K Modem so it is time consuming for me to mail it to all people. I will try to make the files smaller so you can share them with others.

So should someone need or didn't receive all of them, I hope you don't mind to forward the covers. 13 covers + a part of the Cover art for a TSR Product Catalogue with Agis and Rikus on it. Painted by Jeff Easly IIRC, the worst DS Art I ever saw just my opinion.

Dec 01, 2004 11:33:52 You know since we are all a big DS family I will make you all an offer. I have a lot of DS stuff. Everything I could get ;). The Ral Partha 1996 Catalogue with DS Figures in it. Most of the Figures as well. Spellfire Reference Guide 1 and 2. Many DS Spellfire Cards and Some TSR Trading Cards 1992 and 1993. And the two DS Computer Games. Last but not least Product catalogues and booklets and of course all DS Books and RPG Stuff.

I could scan all those nice Spellfire and Trading Cards in and all the "unknown" pics (this time in the best Quality I dare) and provide some Web-space for it, but first would WotC snap my neck for this? For those who likes the Figures, well I can scan them in too. Though I would need time, maybe 10 pics a week.
