hah. oops. When I posted the thread the first time, my browser and connection were acting weird. Looked like it had posted, but I guess all the text ran away.

Pretty much, I was thinking . . . Myron, the right hand of rajaat, got the scorcher. Irikos, the left hand, got the silencer. Ultimately, Borys got the scourge. Who had it before Borys? His predecessor? If not the right nor left hand of rajaat, what rank warranted the sword? Even if Rajaat hadn't made the scourge until well after, what warranted him giving it to Borys?

I get the feeling that the Silencer was made first, he improved on the design and created the scorcher (kind of a better creation than the silencer). So he gives the best to his pet, Myron, and Irikos gets second best. Later irikos dies, the cleansing wars begin, and somewhere along the way Rajaat creates a new sword . . .

Maybe after the war was in full swing . . . Myron the favorite is using the scorcher to good effect before turning on rajaat . . . the first dwarf butcher gets killed, and Rajaat, after creaeting Borys, creates the scourge for him to help him in the fight against the toughest opposition any of the championshave run up against so far?

These weapons are actually made to kill the champion, not a race in particular. Rememeber that the Scourge is a +6 agaisnt champions, and when a champions attack you, its blink you away from harm. Dregoth was killed by the Scorcher, the Dragon and Ablach-re by the Scourge. Rajaat made these swords so after the champions had wiped out all the non-human race, they will fight each other in a sort of ``human civil war``, and then, wipe humanity. Of course, Rajaat didnt told that to his champions, so he probably said to Borys that the Scourge was a Dwarf-killer sword. The champions are highly vulnerable agaisnt the Scourge (except Hamanu). So the champions with the sword could easely kill the other champions. There only three swords. So you have only three champions left at the end. Hamanu his immune to these weapons, so he kill the two remaining champions, and then, there only one champions left for Rajaat to destroy. He then destroy the rest of the human himself and he have his Blue age.

I think that was his plan (at least, in my campaign), but as you know, it went all wrong. the Silencer dissapeared, and Borys learned about Rajaat real plan and made the rebellion (its probably why he left his sword in Kemalok and later, Hamanu throwed the Scorcher in the silt sea). the champions learned that these weapons were in fact made agaisnt them, so, they got rid of it, thinking nobody would found them (Imagine Androponis surprise when he saw that elf raider with the Silencer, - Houston, we have a problem).

That my impretation of the swords, but you can make what you want it.
Also I think, Sacha and Wayans (still loyal to Rajaat) had big influence over Kalak, and they convinced him to transform into a dragon in one fast step. In there plan, they wanted to have another full-bred dragon on athas so there a fight between Borys and Kalak (going mad cause of the transformation), and hopefully, Kalak win and Rajaat his then free cause Borys is no longer there. Kalak his killed, so Sacha and wayans try another way to free there master. that when they become Tithian adviser and talk about the Dark lens. They told him its a way to becore a sorcrer king but they want in fact making him kill Borys. Tithian turn agaisnt them, so Sacha and Wayans search for new allies. That when they encoutner Sadira and her plan to kill the Dragon (Amber enchantress). Now its easy for the two head, they have a safe way to kill the dragon since its the goal of sadira and her friends.

In my campaign, Sadira, Rikus and such dont existe. Its the Pc that killed Kalak. I plan to have them met Sacha and wayans and these two will try to control the pc into finding way to kill the Dragon (My PC never have read the Prism pentad, so they dont know about Rajaat). They encoutered the dragon ocne tough, and they learned about the dragon levy, and without rail-roading them on this way, they are trying now to find a way to kill the dragon. I hope they succeed (it will be hard) and then, realise that the dragon was a lesser of two evil :D :D :D :D :D :D

Ya

I made this cause I always tought the history of Dark sun had a lot of logical hole in it. There a lot of inconsistency (how you spell it in english?). You should see the note i made for my scenario. Too bad its in french.
Right now, I'm trying to solve the problem with Irikos (a champions or not?).

As for my campaign, there a couple of thing I banned cause I thought it was silly or was not fitting well the mood of Dark sun.

Here what I changed

- Dwarf are not the ancestor of giant. No way!
- The whole Black spine adventure is silly and stupid. Never happen in my campaign.
- Asticlan gambit have some good diea, but overall, its silly and stupid, Never happen in my campaign
- I dont like Black flame scenario, Never happen in my campaign
- Merchant house of amketch suck badly, Never happen in my campaign
- Bog wadder. What the ...insert insult here... is suppose to be a bug wadder? I dont get the idea or why it should be interesting to use this monster. I banned it
- Cha'trang only be able to shoot creature flying...??????
So its only attack is like useless since how many time you see the PC flying. When I use chatrang, he shoot flying creature and walknig creature.
- Tannari and extra-planar cannot be on Athas (only the thing from the black and elemental plane allowed unless they come out of Dregoth portal)
- Kalak IS a champion (why mortal could not kill a champions? Ok I know it suck a little the way they did it in Verdant passage, but in my campaign, its the PC who killed Kalak. The way it happened made a lot more sense than VP and half the party got wiped out. Also, the Hearthwood spear is a uber artefact weapons. You are immune to magic and psionic. Kalak could't do nothing agaisnt the player holding the spear, and it passed trought Kalak defense (stoneskin, globe of invulnerability and such) easely. The only thing Kalak have managed to do agaisnt this player his making a part of the Ziggourat ceiling fall on the player with a spell, but the sucker survived. After Kalak was dead, I made clear to the PC that he could'nt keep this spear cause Nok wanted it back (what could he do against a 12lvl Druid/10th level illusionist who carry a greater air-elemental in a magical bag, the spear dont protect against Clerical magic.)
- I have a problem with Nibenay being Thaï culture. In fact, I think it was originaly intended to be Egyptian culture since the name sound egyptian. In my campaign, Nibenay his egyptian, with hieroglyphe, sphynx and such. I think its more cooler. And I think a shadow king fit more with egypt than asian culture. And you should see his templar chick, nude with hat like Touthankamon.
- The halfling living in a pine forest. In my campaign, the forest ridge is a big thick jungle full of dangerous creature.
- Hamanu being 21 level dragon??? (Dragon King book). Why Nibenay his 24, Tec 22 and all the other 21. I think it had more diversity if they are not of the same level. So in my campaign, Hamanu is 23, Tec 22,Daskinor 22, the rest are 21 and Nibenay is 24 (almost 25, I plan to have Sacha and wayans manipulate the PC to kidnapp Siemouk (Nibenay head templar) so Nibenay get in the animalistic rage and then fight the Dragon. Of course, the pc will learn about Siemouk power and save the day by returning her to the shadow king and turning back agaisnt the two floating head (its why I want to know wich level they are, for now I make them psion lvl 23 and 21).
- The last sea dont exist in my campaign. I find it silly.
- The troll grave chasm, maybe it will not exist, Im not sure. Anyway, my player havent gone really far to the north. The fartest they went is the Smoking crown and Urik.
- Windraider of the jagged cliffe. Just personal preference here. I dont like the idea and find it dont fit my campaign, so there no Rhullusti (or whatever you call them). They existed only in the Blue age. The cliff is there tough.
- Borys have wing and he will always do whatever drawing make. When I describe the Dragon, I always take the cover of Valley of dust and fire as reference. THAT BORYS THE DRAGON!
- Some people will maybe hate me for this one, but Kalid-may in my campaign is not in Ravenloft and she a girl. I think it had more diversity to the champion. In the canon material, there only two SK girl and they are the less powerfull. I think its could that there was 3 defiler nearly achieving dragonhood in the history of Athas, and one of them was a girl (Kalid-may, sorcerer-queen of Kalidnay).

- In my campaign, the PP never happened. I dont have anything agaisnt these book ,but i think its remove too much Dark sun coolnest for my taste. I like having sorcerer king everywhere. The only SK i let die was Kalak and I thing that enough. Now, if my player ever manage to kill another one, well, let it all be, they succeded at it. But they must be lucky, cause I will no longer make scenario that involve around killing an SK. now, they are fighting in the war agaisnt Urik after the fall of Kalak. Its a ripeoff of Road to Urik mixed with Crimson legion. We play tonight, and the player found a Raise nation scroll. They will lead an undead army agaisnt the horde of Hamanu (let by a 15 level Yuan-ti templar called Lubar the great serpent).

That my modification.

Also, as for the giant Thri-kreen head in the Hinterland. I am trying to write an essay on this. There was an avangion (maybe Oronis, im not sure) who went back in time to stop the cleansing war and save Athas. So he lend in the middle of the cleansing war. He then mount an army of thri-kreen to fight the champions. He try to contact the Thor-kreen empire, but these dont care what happening at the top of the Jagged cliff cause they ``Insert reason here``. So the avangion search in Kreen mythology and discover a ``prophecy`` or something else that talk about search light in the sky that will be ``Insert Thor-kreen reason like Apocalypse or the Time have come.`` So the Avangion built the statue head with the searchlight in hope that it will bring the Thor-kreen empire in war agaisnt the champions. But during his research, the avangion stumble across one of the champions (Maybe Rajaat have learned his plan and sended Hamanu to kill him). There big battle, the Avangion wipe Hamanu army and then, tell Hamanu about the real plan of Rajaat. It's at THIS time that the champions learn about Rajaat plan. Hamanu, ruthless and bright has he his find a way to kill the Avangion (the later was Lawfull good and could not execute Hamanu) and then proceed to tell the other champions about Rajaat.
So, by trying to avoid the disaster than turned Athas into a desert planet, the Avangion actually made it possible. If he had not told Hamanu about the futur and Rajaat wanting to destroy the human, the champions would have finished there cleansing war, and then, Rajaat would have killed them all and bring the new Blue age. So its the Avangion fault if all that happened (paradox of time). If you go back in time and kill your mother before she gave birth to you, you will never been born, so you will never go back in time to kill her, so you will go back in time to kill her, but since she never made you, you would never go back in time to kill her, and so on... I'ts a a loop circle.
So this Avangion lived after the cleansing war, but since he went back in time and accidentaly told the champions about Rajaat plan, he made the event happens of Athas turned into a wasteland happens.

Of course, that just a theory I made and found cool. Your free to say what you thing about it. Also, there a lot of hole in it and some missing element since I havent finished writting it.

As for the giant thri-kreen statue in the Hinterland, when the avangion dissapeared, the thri-kreen mourned the lost of there Great one and constructed the head hoping it will bring him back (of course his dead). The Search light of the head had never been activated, so if someday, someone activated it, the Thor-kreen will saw the light and Invade the Tableland cause the prophecy said ``Insert prophecy here``.

Also, I could had a funny element. Back in the futur, when the Great one was still not an avangion, he made a mistake (like being bad and nasty to a slave or a Spirit of the land). The later cursed the Great one and said ``You will bring the downfall of Athas by your action!``
The Great one took this curse seriously, so he tryed to counter this curse by bringing the rebirth of Athas by going back in time to kill the champions and prevent Athas being destroyed. In fact, you can't evade a curse.

Also, I cant wait for my campaign when we will be in the Free year 7 (the year of the messenger). It will be there (contrary to official canon) but a mad member of the order (or maybe Rajaat from the Hollow) who want to wipe out all life on athas will use Masstelekinesis (a very powerfull version) to bring the comet crashing into Athas. The Pc will have to prevent it. Maybe They will have to go on the comet (sound like Armageddon, I must avoid that) and found the secret of what the Messenger really his. I still have no idea about that, but it would not be giant space hamster or halfling even if I like the idea of the messenger being a massive chunk of Coral reef from the blue age.

Again, Sorry for my bad english, its not my first language.

Another change I made.

I always found the Tableland were too small. I made the distance more big. In my campaign, a trip to Urik from Tyr is 14 day. Tyr to Fort Skonz is 2 day. That make the desert a lot more dangerous and the city-state are isolated from the one to another (except for the merchant caravane). I find it dumb that in the official canon, you can make the trip Urik-Bitter well in 6 day.

You know... I would be more than willing to relieve you of these insolent adventures.

What's so wrong about the Bog Wader. I find it fun to surprise my players once in a while when they want to get a drink. One of them nearly tore off my player's halfling's leg once. :D

Cha'trangs don't have to be super-powered monsters. In my campaign, they're simply an animal which evolved to bring down kes'trekels, hawks, dust guls, etc. to nourish itself.
