That would be a huge list, although I can give you a handy reference for all the base and prestige classes in Dragonlance.

Compiled Class List

Any from Towers of High Sorcery are viable, as well as the Wizard of High Sorcery from the DLCS (revised in Towers of High Sorcery), plus the Knight of the Thorn from the DLCS (if playing during the Chaos War era). The war mage and Solamnic Auxiliary mage from Age of Mortals are also good resources.

That should mostly cover it. Hope that helps.

Loremaster (I'm playing one in Cam's DL game) and Archmage, both from the DMG, are appropriate, I've been told.

I know that there's NPC's in ToHS that have levels in Loremaster ... not sure about Archmage.

wouldn't the Knights of the Thorn still be usable after the Chaos War? (well except when magic disappeared).

What about warmage (or did that appear in a DL product) for Magius ...

A lot of the PrCs from the Draconimocon would fit as well.

Yep, both are quite appropriate.

I once played an irda wizard/bard in 2e. Now, in 3e, the combo doesn't work due to bards using Wild Sorcery. What I opted for was a wizard/WoHS/Loremaster. In the 2e days, I only used the wizard spell progression anyway, as he advanced a lot faster as bard. So it made for the perfect conversion.

Antimodes has Loremaster levels. Can't remember who has Archmage levels.

Theoretically, a Thorn Knight could be a wizard after the War of Souls. By this time, though, the Thorn Knights are predominantly sorcerers. It is doubtful they would go back to being wizards.

What about warmage (or did that appear in a DL product) for Magius ...

There's a war mage PrC in Age of Mortals, which came out prior to the base warmage class in Complete Arcane (amongst other sources). Magius has levels in the war mage PrC.

Many of the elder wizards in the Conclave possess archmage levels. Historically, it's one of the logical choices once the wizard has progressed as far as they can through the wizard of High Sorcery PrC. Only a handful of them don't possess the class once they've satisfied the requirements for it, such as Dalamar and Jenna. During the Age of Despair and (moreso) the Age of Might, it was much more prevalent.

Fisty! ... that was it.

dragonhelm: doh! ... original question was about wizards. Although the DLCS leaves the possibility open for some Thorn holdouts trying to practice wizardry ... or was that some sort of faith in the original mandate/measure. 6 or 1/2 dozen the other.

So was my reply.

More than likely, there are few to no wizards in the Thorn Knights. Most of their wizard members would either be dead or switched to Wild Sorcery.

I could see that one-in-a-million character who was dedicated to Ariakan's ideals in the Chaos War, and who regained his wizardly power with the return of the gods.

Granted, I could also see this character being a death knight, but that's another story. ;)

Yes they would, not to mention that I actually based one of my side-plots off of a Draconomicon PrC.

yeah yeah ... I got it, meant to imply that I had missed the original question which is why I replied the way I did

oh wait, I think I got it now ... you were right! :P

a group of renegade Knights of the Thorn seeking to reestablish a form of High Sorcery would make for a nice antagonist organization.
