We all know he has died in the 3rd Prism Pentand Novel, but there was this growing plant (or Tree), with Noks voice, whispering Sadiras Name. Since Nok was a mighty Preserver using Dragon Magic, Epic Psionicist, and an Advanced Life-Shaper (IMO) he could "grow" back inside this Tree, what do you think? He would bring an insurance with him, don't you think?
He also made this Spear, one of the most powerful weapons on Athas, the immunity to Magic and Psi could be explained with Life-Shaping, he growed it through a Tree.
Maybe he was even the beginning of a new Advanced being, some kind of Spirit of the Land-Avangion? Everything is possible, and Nok is the most intriguing Character of the First Novel I think .

In my campaign (2 edition), my PC met Nok to get the hearthwood spear (my player killed Kalak, Sadira and rikus dont exist in my campaign) and I made Nok a 10th level illusionist/12th druid. I tried to stay as close as the description we have of him in the Prism pentad. His a very unpleasant fellow. 5 minute after my Pc met him, they already hated him and they almost battled each other 4 time. His ruthless, insulting, pragmatic and dont care what happening out of his forest. I made him give the spear to the pc only cause he tought Kalak turning into a Dragon would destroy the forest ridge. And he told the PC that they would have to give back the spear after killing Kalak. They did'nt even tried to keep the spear after that cause they wanted to get ride of Nok as fast as possible (in this case: Take your spear, and get out of here, we dont want to see you again. )
