I just got my copy of WotL book, and i got some thing i noticed:

1) Ariakus is posted as wiz 5 and knight of thorns 10. I think this is pretty unusual, seeing that he were cleric in 2nd edition. Additionaly, he has knight of thorn levels, a PrC that didnt exist before 370 PC.

2) Is there a errata about Alfred Markenin beeing the High Justice? Isnt that DerekĀ“s role?

3) Did anyone else misses Gunthar between the personalities chapter?

4) Great deal in the Master core class...

Ariakas has been known as a cleric in prior gaming products, but as a wizard in Chronicles. Reading into his character description, you'll see that Ariakas was getting his wizardly power from Takhisis (which some mistook for him being a cleric). He's the predecessor to the Knights of the Thorn, ergo his Thorn Knight levels. There's a disclaimer on that in the write-up.

3) Did anyone else misses Gunthar between the personalities chapter?

Gunthar is in there. Look under "L" for "Lord Gunthar uth Wistan".

But what about the High Justice?

Chronicles lists him as the High Justice. What's probably happening is that since Lord Derek himself is part of the Trial of Sturm, and also one of the contenders for the Grand Master, he is not eligible for that rank. Indeed, there aren't any others, so the best they can do is Alfred, a Sword Knight. Lord Michael Joeffrey fills in as High Clerist.

There really aren't a lot of knights in this age, remember. Only 63 ranking knights of Solamnia are known, which is a very small amount. The bulk of the Solamnic army is comprised of men-at-arms, mercenaries, soldiers, cavalry, and pike. It's not an army of knights, but an army led by knights.

Cheers,
Cam

But what about the High Justice?

I was pretty sure that Derek was NOT the High Justice. He was up for the Role of Grand Master, and was competing against Lord Gunthar. Lord Alfred was High Justice, When Clerical abilities returned. (Justice was the Head of the Sword Order, right?)

Thats my point: nobody is sure who is who!

High Justice is the headof the Rose order, High Clerist for the Sword and High Warrior for the Crown. Only one of "the Highs" could run for Grand Master. So, Derek is not running for it, unless he is High Justice (he is a rose knight, after all).

So:

1) Who is the High Justice?
2) Who is the High Warrior?
3) Who is the High Clerist?
4) If Gunthar is the Grand Master, when he was nominated "a High" at all?
