...I have a question for you. Where in Flaeness (sp?) would a nordic (viking) type of character hail from?

If you can help me...I shall cheer for you.

Rhizia, aka the Thillronian peninsula. The Suloise Ice, Snow or Frost Barbarians are the closest things you'll find to a match in the Flanaess.

Happy Gaming.

The closest thing is the snow and ice barbarians North-west of Tenh, and north of the bone march. I've always pictured them more like Conan type barbarians though.

hehehehehehehe!!!!

Good cheering, MrGrimm!

By the way, if you want some other infos about vikings, try to grab the Vikings Campaign Sourcebook published by TSR (#9322). It is 2nd Ed, but most of it can be used without any modifs for any Ed.

Just wanted to toss in the names Fruztii, Schnai and Cruski. That`s how the snow, ice andfrost barbarians call themselves. They are Suel descended so blond and fair complexion matches viking stereotype very well as does what you can glean from their culture and religion. The Scarlet Brotherhood has some info on the Suel Gods that are predominantly worhsipped in Rhizia. Kord, Llerg are among them IIRC.

The Sagard the Barbarian Gamepath books by Gygax feature a conan-type barbarian from Ratik BTW.

If you are interested in some fan material I've a write-up on the Greyhawk Northmen called Vatun's Children. It is on the Harvestersheroes website if you'd like to check it out.

I too, have a rather in depth look at some of the northmen.

You'll have to copy/paste into your browser, if interested.
