First at all, What do you think about anasana want to join the party?

If Anasana will join the party (she has many reasons to do it... the same reason that took her to explore the temple), do you think that I should scaling the encounter? (anasana is CR7, with an EL of 7-8, i suppose).

Anasana is the equivalent of a 10th level character: 3 HD +4 LA +3 levels of sorcerer = 10. She's a little too powerful to be hanging out with the heroes at this stage of the game as a party member. Her CR 7 comes from an aranea's CR of 4 plus 3 levels of sorcerer, but CR is really only for determining how tough of a fight the creature is, and doesn't reflect the ongoing utility of having one around as an ally. That's where ECL comes in, and an ECL 10 makes Anasana unfairly advantaged compared to the PCs (who are probably around 4th-5th level at this stage, if that).

Funny story about Anasana. The party found out about her arachnid nature when they retrieved the Shard of Light. They turned the sword's true seeing ability on her on a whim. She was not pleased to say the least.

Thanks CAM . I know how LA and CR works, simply I didn't know the aracnea Level Adj ;)
As you suggest, i have chosen that anasana will not join tha party...
Anyway, do you have any GOOD reason she should refuse to join the party If they ask for help?

No problem. It's in the monster entry in the Monster Manual though, just for future reference. Unless you're a 3.0 guy, in which case it isn't.

Sure. She doesn't want to share the profits, doesn't want the PCs to find out she's really a giant intelligent spider, Chislev told her she's needed elsewhere, she doesn't like the party for some reason, or she's happy working solo and the heroes are just going to cramp her style. Many reasons.

I never even had her show up when I ran that part of the adventure, but then I had half of the party go back in time to the night of the ogre attack on Hurim, so I wasn't exactly running it straight from the book anyway.

Cheers,
Cam

Right... ;)
I feel as I ask for a dumb question! ;) hehehe

The last question... Anasana knows about the half-elf associate's death? (just to understand better the anasana "character").

Thanks again!

I've never been certain about that. It's implied that she knows and has chalked it up to the dangers of tomb-robbing (or tomb-cataloging, or however it is she decides to explain it) but then again, maybe she doesn't. Maybe he turned on her and now she's just happy he's out of the way.

You should develop her character as you like, I suppose is the gist of what I'm saying.
