Is there celestials in Dragonlance? it makes me wonder if there are, because there are demons and devils, we know that, so there probably is entities on the other end of the spectrum as well. There is a character I am putting into the game as a major NPC, a Ghaele Eladrin who masquerades as a Qualenesti Elf by the name of Avaria Ryvadale. (her real nameis Davara)

She entered Krynn during the Age of Mortals, from Aroebia, and swore an oath to follow the Veil. From what I learned the Eladrin are very conscious of the Goodness of the planes, and often times live on the primes for a time, promoting the cause of Goodness. They can enter the Prime Worlds without being summoned, or being asked permission by a God, unlike other celestials However they also must also follow what is called the "Veil". In other words they have to take the form of a Prime Material Being. They must never reveal their true selfs to mortals (Although exceptions like being detected by a "true seeing" spell could exist), and if this happens, they are called back to Aroebia, within the hour, never to return. Anyway Avaria, fought in the war of souls, but kept true to the Veil. Fighting for good, but also being careful not to "Flaunt" her abilities, taking the role as a common solider, rather than someone who would chase down dragons and slay them (Although as a Ghale Eladrin, with some levels in fighter, she probably could take on a dragon in a fight). Mainly she seeks to inspire goodness, doing small deeds but avoiding widespread fame or recognition, as it would further endanger her identity.

Avaria appears as a beautiful elf, with light auburn hair, and green eyes. She has assumed the form and identity of a young elf woman, who perished in the chaos war. She wears a suit of Mithril Chain Mail (magically enchanted), and carries two magical swords (One of them her celestial blade, but she is careful not to use it unless absolutely nessarly), and a shield. She currently is a wanderer, traveling throughout the lands, promoting acts of goodness, and at times providing aid to adventures. She might be a plot hook for a "Save Party from Death" type NPC, or she could be something more in the future. Still when she acts, she often tries not to take credit, nor does she accept rewards for her work, both because the deed brings its own reward, and to follow the veil, she needs little attention.

The booklet that came with the DL DM screen has info on all outsiders and their place in the DL campaign. I don't have on me currently otherwise I'd give you more info. It does detail which celestials serve which god and so forth. Its worth checking out.

Celestials do indeed exist in dragonlance, though they don't play as much of a role as they do in Forgotten Realms or especially Greyhawk. For that matter, neither do fiends.

Mostly they exist as summoned creatures. However, there is nothing saying that demons and angels cannot exist on the mortal plane. The simple fact that they do not get common mention might just mean they are more subtle about it, and are one faction between the wars of the gods.

With the death of Takhisis and Paladine, who used dragons in their warfare, demons and angels might be taking a bigger share of the spotlight. After all, Sargonnas would be more inclined to use devils than dragons.
