Sigh.....another movie thread. No offense but there's already a bunch of these threads out there and the subject has been talked to death. Do a search on them and use those.

Here's one for starters...... DL Movie Thread

Rather than a moive do a TV mini series. 2-3 hours for each episode (commercials), which would only be about 5-6 chapters per episode, for 3 non-consecutive months. You should be able to get all of the improtant stuff from Chronicles and get people interrested in a DL Legends movie. Trying to do Chronicles would take like 6 4 hour moives and you'd have to cut out so much because you'd have to refresh people's memories as to what happened in the last movie, let alone trying to get them the background of Krynn.

I don't know if Peter Jackson want to do that the second time around, spend 14 months shooting. He could do it one movie at a time, but we'd have to see one every 2 years.

Another thing. Both Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis must be heavily involved in the film project. That may mean they have to come up with new material just to get the details down. The late JRR Tolkien was kind enough to leave the world a lot of notes about Middle-Earth and being a fan of linguistics, bring the languages of the non-Men to life.

Then again, it doesn't have to be that good. Just as long it is, I don't know, Xena or Hercules good? :P

If it was as craptacular as Xena or Hercules, I'd drink a bottle of bleach and start a llama farm.

And by that ambiguously strange statement, I mean I sure as hell wouldn't go see it.

Wow....actually, that's an incredibly awesome idea! Sorta like that one book that they made into a mini-series...I forget what it's called, but it's the one where this father and daughter go to a fantasy world, and she falls in love with the Big Bad Wolf, and the prince and his dog have traded bodies(and the dog is being an exceptionally well ruler)...I probably lost everybody, but I remember that the miniseries was around 9 or so hours long, and the book was just about as big as one and a half LotR books...If they can stretch that out to 9 hourse, then maybe we could get in the are of 20 hours for the Chronicles and Legends! And, also, this would be the best way to get the spin-off series' made into movies; for instance, The Soulforge/Brothers in Arms and The Doom Brigade/Draconian Measures. Incredible books, would be incredible movies, but you know they wouldn't make movies of them(well, maybe The Soulforge).
