Curious when the other SKs discover that their ability to grant templar spells is been drained.
Is it:
A) As soon as Dregoth's spell drains the epic level casters, whether or not the SK has templars capable of casting those spells he feels the loss of power from the Vortex.
B) As soon as one of his templars asks for a high level spell and the SK says "oops, all out of those, how about a bless? i can still manage those".

Never even thought of that question!

I would say, that most sorcerer-monarchs would know something was up but not what as soon as the first stage of the epic spell was cast. They may not be able to use their elemental vortices personally, but they have been granting spells for millenia, they would likely sense something was not quite right with their pet vortex.

However, one must also take into consideration that most sorcerer monarchs likely don't grant too many 7th+ level spells every day, I mean no point in doling out all that power to someone who is corrupt, selfish and the like without good reason. So, arguably they might remain unaware that their elemental vortices are being strangled for some time into the adventure.

Once they do become aware however, what do they do?

Officially, since they don't directly interfere, the adventure implies that they:

1) teleport a bunch of PCs over to Raam to do some additional recon for them.

2) they decide to go and hide rather than confront Dregoth together. I mean it took most of the sorcerer-kings to kill Dregoth the last time, and being all evil and stuff it is likely he holds a grudge against them for this. With fewer of them left now, they individually might decide Dregoth can not be killed and instead try to bolster their own defences or direct Dregoth's ire at some other sorcerer-monarch.

So a few epic level protective spells going off in the city's of the three remaining sorcerer-monarchs might be something that is observed. Or maybe even a few diplomatic missions to Giustenal?

just my take on the situation...
