Hello, I'm wondering if any clues have been given on the wereabouts of the Mortal Incarnation of Paladine? Does Paladine still get visited by his wife Mishakal, and are they still lovers? Does Paladine have any "Character Levels" despite not being a God anymore? Like sure he's not a God, but he likey has all his memmories, thus he must have SOME skills, as he can remember how to do things. Would the Mortal Paladine still try to help the world if he can?

Valthonis, the mortal Paladine, walks the continent of Ansalon learning what it is like to be mortal and aiding those he can. He still has a vast amount of knowledge but he no longer posses his divine knowledge. His divine knowledge has faded, but is recorded in the Great Library (how he as an elf got there with Palanthas under the KoN control is a question that begs to be answered). He is just as unable to affect the world as any other mortal is but tries to help out where he can. That is all we know of him at this time.

Perhaps he will help in the reforming of the Orders of High Sorcery, in the Fizbanian tradition?

I'm hoping he'll help the elves, since he is one now....

In a campaign I was running recently, he was trying to convince the KoS to aid the elves in their plight. However, I haven't been able to get my party back together to continue the game.

I truly hope that Valthonis in mortal form is nothing like Fizban, for sirrons sake I hated Fizban, worse then a kender...

Valthonis is where you want him to be.
I except there will be official reference to his activites later on, but from my point of view he is meant to be a backhand joker. Therefor use him to your pleasure (and thereby violate his former ideals, hehe :D )

I except him to be dimplomatic type, but also a nomadic wanderer of the continent, scouting out missions to his liking. Most likely he will turm to the elvish problem first. But I don't think we willl se any fullscale novels about him, as I said backalley reference character.

I wonder if there will be a book that desribes what he is up to in the near future?

If I were a gambling man, and I'm not, I'd wager we'll see something about him in HOotS and the new upcoming KoS books. I think It'd be better if he left as a background character rather than completely fleshed out and given his own novel line.

I wonder if some people might worship him now due to his sacrifice?

If I were Valthonis I'd be in hiding. Isn't Mina gunning for him after the death of Big T?

In Age of Mortals there was a write up for Valthonis, Koranith pretty much summed it up. However one thing I'd like to add, is that Valthonis refuses to let anyone worship him, as he is a mortal now. Though he does have people who follow his wanderings.

I hope that Valthonis is never statted out.

I know he wouldn't want anybody whorshipping him. I don't think he minds people or intelligent beings following him. In my campaign if the PC's ever run across him he will have at least 15 honor guards that travel with him. 5 Golds(various ages), 5 Silver (various ages), 5 Bronze (various ages). Paladine was very big on mortals making up their own free will to do as they choose, and he wouldn't stop them from their choices. And I think the Dragons of light would feel compelled to assign Dragons as honor guards for Paladine even though he probably wouldn't want them to do so.

So your saying he is like Jesus for DL sacrficed himself for the good of Krynn, doesn't people praising him but doesn't mind taking a few followers here and there. And to think people were mad about that Appendix in DoaVM sound to Chatholic for DL, if you think about it thats exactly what Paladine has become, in a manner of speaking... or as Obi-Wan puts it "from a certian point of view." I too hope he doesn't get his own novel line nor stats, and just stays as a background character. Tak has faded out I feel the same should be done with Paladine, alive as a mortal or not. Otherwise it could be said to upset the balance. As for Mina gunning for him... i think at this time she is a little preoccupied with her new lover, though after this trilogy i get the feeling she is going to be quite angry with ALL of the gods, so she may resume her hunt for him eventually, though with no God givin powers a lot of good she will do against an elf.

"Why yes Sysane, I have heard something along those lines about Mina having a huge hate on for Valthonis/Paladine". ;)

But she isn't. She would have killed him in Sanction if it was as simple as that. She wants him to suffer, and she doesn't need to find him to make him do that... she just needs to spread violence and discord throughout the land and crush what's left of the elven nations. THEN she'll hunt him down and kill him.

Ah, very interesting. I wonder if Valthonis will actively opose her and Chemosh's plans?

Anyone read through "Key of Destiny" yet? It never does say in that adventure what exactly the key will be used for. Only that it's been around for millinia and that it would come about in the time of greatest need . . . maybe it'll restore Paladine? If so who would take the top evil spot to keep the balance. Would Takhisis be raised? Would Raistlen finally get the big seat? just a random thought . . .

I highly doubt that it will be use to restore Paladine to Godship. Even if it does, Tak is gone for good this has been stated to death so much its about as dead as Tak is, and I don't think Raist will take it either he has basically repented and is not all out for power like he is, hes dead and i think he is content to stay with that way.

God I hope not. I'm actually glad that Paladine the pansy is no more. He always seemed a bit of a pushover to me. Whatever happened to good old-fashioned stern disicpline rather than do whatever you want and I won't do a thing about it, until it's too late and have to throw a fiery mountain down on you. I glad they are gone as the setting was very stagnat with them. Things were just started to warm up again before the found the world. I'm glad were not going back to the status quo again.

I like the idea of Kiri-Jolith as the heir of Paladine, with Mishakal and Majere as his advisors. He is such a similar figure to Paladine's more martial aspects, he seems like he is the most natural to fill that role.

Will there be any indication of what the gods of light are up to in any of the novels?
